2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 8, 2012
I read the description and if I know my Italian as good as I think I will say I’m shocked that they used tacos in the brewing process. But will it show up in the beer characteristics??? I had to look closely but I can’t see any tacos in the beer so that’s a relief. None in the aroma either. Spring like, light wheat, orange slices warming in a ziplock bag at soccer, 7-Up, mild peppery nose - clean. The taste is pretty in my face with the strong apple / lemon wheat zip tang thing working over time. Crazy tang. Yea that sums it up. Excelsior!!!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 squarta (40) - - APR 9, 2012
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rand (820) - SWITZERLAND - APR 7, 2012
Bottle 330 ml from Globus - Marin (CH). Pale milky and veiled blonde, fleeting white foam and crackling Champagne-like. Soft and fresh aromas, spices and citrus, coriander and yeast. The taste is soft of wheat, average acidity, sweet and sour, coriander and spices. Then the sweetened gives way to a bitterness of citrus which goes on. Not very refreshing, not blown away .
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 15, 2012
Bottle at Taste Firenze. Dry, yeasty witbier with light grapefruit, cloves in the nose and a wheaty, dry finish. Tasty, original wit.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 skolad (6) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 20, 2012 does not count
Very citrusy beer, with a definite wheat aroma. A rich full body, heavy on the coriander (one of my favorite spices!), with sweet, tart, and bitter well balanced. Flavorful from start to finish -- loved it!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 12, 2012
(330ml bottle) Purchased at Vintage Liquor (Rialto Hotel) in Victoria, BC, for $6.55/btl. Pours a quick dissipating head with a cloudy light amber. Nose of sour milky wheat. Great tartness upon first touch to the tongue, some salty acidity through the palate. Very lemony citrus and not lactic at all. This is great... though I’m on a sour-kick right now.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pintbypint (1610) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 27, 2011
330ml green bottle. Hazy pour, some floaties, colour is pale gold. Airy white head, big bubbles. Weak lacing, but there is some. Nose has dusty wheat malts, light vanilla notes and a bit of muted citrus-lemon. Taste is quite tangy, lemony, yeasty, with lots of wheat. Wheaty finish, dryish, a little yeasty with a tiny bit of citrus tang. Light bodied, really soft carbonation. Serviceable witbier, not very exciting, but not a bad beer.
1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 presario (4133) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle. Pale yellow with almost no head despite strong carbonation. Light to moderate aroma fits the style in a quiet way. Flavour fits the style if the style is drain pour. Very sour vinegar like impression shocks the palate in the first sip. Some lemon and yeast in the aftertaste. For some reason I take another sip. Still sour and dirty but not shocking. Lemony and not worth pursuing.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 reebtogi (2169) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 11, 2011
330ml bottle poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a finger of white head that settled to some thin lacing. Aroma was mild citrus. Taste was dominated by citrus and there was some underlying malty sweetness and light spice. Slightly below average for this style of beer.
