2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, - JUN 28, 2010
A hazy blonde ale with a thin white head. A light malty aroma with light candy sugar, light Belgian hops. In mouth, a boring non-descript ale with corky notes, watery hops, very boring. Bottle at Mondial 2010.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 16, 2012
Poured out a hazy yellow gold with some sediment and a thin white cap. The aroma is spicy (hitting this quite warm at this point), weak banana, orange and strong malts. Am I smelling this correctly? Cloves. My eyes are dry. The flavour is pretty plain with a bitter musty spice and citric acid stuff, clove, no banana,,,,,,,,,,,, bitter finish, ok carb, tart. A dull beer for dullards.

750mL thanks to noodleuser. Pours hazy straw with a towering white head. Big retention and webby, soapy lace. Sweeter lemon sorbet nose with pineapple and cantaloupe. Taste is ultra tangy, way over carbonated, minerally, over attenuated. Decent grassy hop buttering with light pineapple sorbet on the palate. Very delicate and nice. Good stuff.

330ml green bottle. Hazy golden pour, decently foamy white cap. Fruity nose, some apple flesh and pears. Some yeast. Taste has grainy malts, a bit wheaty, some fruitiness mid way, yeasty end, dry with a bit of leafy hops. Light to medium bodied with a light carbonation. Pretty light overall, not very complex. Was not overly impressed in the end. Bruton can do better than this.

Bottle. Pale hazy yellow. Minimal head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and hint of farmhouse. Light dirty yellow ale flavour. Dirty yeasty wheat with a touch of lemon. Not a pleasant drink.
