Pours unclear ruby mud with a small biege head. The aroma has light sweet berry, almost cranberry notes. The flavor of caramel and subtle smooth sweet malt notes that linger with building sugar malt notes, but smoother than the resiny notes.

The aroma is pleasant, fruit, bread. The appearance is a hazy amber/brown, light tan head. The flavor is like the aroma, frutiy and bread. The finish is sweet, then some pine hop bttering, but not much. Medium in body. Quite good.

Bottle at Taste Firenze. Caramel and chocolate with pears, light hop flavor, though finishes dry. Slightly oxidized, with a rather light, clean body. Quite nice. Brewer called it a barley wine, not a dubbel.

Pours an opaque dark brown color with amber edges and a thin, fizzy beige head that immediately settles into a thin ring. Minimal spots of lace left behind. Harsh, abrasive aroma with lots of solvent, industrial chemicals and medicine. Really awful smelling with some dark fruit and malts underneath. There’s also a chocolate peppermint presence which is really strange. Pretty awful, hopefully it tastes better than it smells. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and an odd balance of peppery spice, syrupy medicine, dark fruit, booze and sweet malt. Very medicinal with peppermint, pepper and an odd metallic presence. The mouthfeel is pretty offensive with an odd assortment of off-putting flavors. The malts are very faint and the only positive element is the faint fruit character. It was hard to drink more than a few ounces. Another disappointment from this brewery and at the high price point I can’t see buying anything else from them.

Thanks to noodleuser. Cloudy walnut pour, small head around the edges. Nose holds some bizarre lactic cherry, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor adds almonds, marzipan, and candied sugars. Fairly oily, slick, unpleasant mouthfeel. Not impressive.

Dark chestnut, thin beige ring. Nose is chocolate, chalky plum, really sweet grapefruit juice. Oily body brings chocolate, dusty toffee dominating. Gritty and sugary through finish, unfermented yet hot and sticky, off notes like glue emerging with warmth.

500mL thanks to noodleuser. Nose is brown sugar, rubber, dirty. Strange flavor, some caramel, soy, weird.
