Tap, nitro charged. Light to moderate malt notes of toasted, dark chocolate and coffee, light herbs and earth for the hops and yeast. Head is small, creamy, light brown with excellent yet slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is medium, creamy with an almost flat carbonation. A pretty nice Stout with a smooth texture and a few tasty aspects.

My favorite of the beers that they made. I think it is on nitro taps at the pub. real creamy notes. big and roasted, nice stuff but again the beers lacks alot of punch and mid palate.

(Rating #3412)

pint at brewpub. pitch black as the name states, with a thick brown head that leaves tons of lacing. aroma is roasted malts and dark chocolate. taste is all malt, with a slightly bitter finish. mouthfeel is smooth, low carbonation. this is by far the best beer brutopia makes.

Belle carbonation.

Nitro... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, lightly tanned head. Great retention. Milk chocolate nose with a hefty dose of butterscotch. The perfectly-balanced flavor is lightly burnt with notes of cocoa and butterscotch. Light-bodied and very lightly creamy with soft carbonation. Finishes burnt and dry. Very good brew, but the diacetyl became a little much at the end of the pint.

From the tap. Creamy dark stout. Excellent taste. Coffee/burnt taste. (Light burnt taste). Good carbonation. Liked it, would drink again for sure.

(1/2 pint) On draught at the brewpub on October 29, 2005. Pours a thin, lasting, beige head with an opaque body. The nose is of cocoa. Slightly sour with a chocolate finish. Average.

Nitro at the brewpub
Da5rk black, tan/brown head, thick and lots of lacing. Nose of light sweet roast, low chocolate, moderate coffee, some bitterness. The flavor is on the better side, thick body and creamy mouthfeel. Finishes with some toffee. mmm
