Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with an off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, cloying sweetness. Light to medium body, flavour is medium sweet, medium bitter.

(29 novembre 2011)

En fût au Brutopia. Couleur jaune or, un peu ambrée. Bonne.

Taster @ Brutopia. The name sounded intriguing. Hints of maple to sweeten it up but not really my bag. At least it was better than the Xtra Blonde.

On tap at Brutopia. Pours a long slowly settling milky gold, but it eventually does clear, with a creamy dense white head. Sweet, grainy toast and sweetness. Soft maple candy notes, light sweet grain. Toast, very smooth but rather empty. Still, it was rather inoffensive and at least somewhat drinkable, which is more than can be said about the other three that we tried.

(Rating #3411)

The most disappointing brew I’ve had here tonight. Sounded wonderful but unlike the other posters I’m having a hard time picking up the maple flavors. I guess it varies from batch to batch which isn’t a good thing. A beer is nothing if it’s not consistent. Yellow copper in color with a typical foamy cream ale head. Flavor is strange and flat, lack of authentic Quebec maple flavor is disappointing. It’s palatable and drinkable but not really worth further review. They need to put more work into this seasonal offering.

Draught. Mondiale 2009 - day 2. Clear bright orange with a small creamy/milky off-white head - odd, but striking. Dry, slightly citrusy aroma, quite grassy, with background syrupy sweetness; very grainy. Taste generically and boringly grainy and harsh, with some candied orange peel. Light bodied, on the still side, and a somewhat harsh aftertaste - another for the "not great" pile.

On tap @ Mondial de la Biere 2009
Appearance: fine haze on amber with mid fine white top.
Nose: Strong maple character , honey sweet nose. 6-
Flavor/Palate : Thin bodied , sweet character with little following up. Boring straight sweet sided brew.
