6+ Initially roast was everything, but later a menthol spike sticks out.
4 Dark. Tight dark beige head.
6+ Almost metallic burnt bitterness. Sweetish, but also a touch ashy. Some undergrowthy earthy bracken too
4- Full palate, crisp carbonation. Sticky in the mouth. Very bitter burntness, heading towards astringent. Very long finish.
12+ Perhaps a bit imposing, but doesn’t dry more than it quenches.

Dark brown color, steady beige head. Strong anise aroma, some toasted notes. Medium-bodied. Strong anise, cocoa, chocolate and toasted finish. Interesting anisez and toasted flavor. Personal.

Draught at Bruuveri 0.25L. Mild nose with some hints of Anise. Pale brown fast disappearing head. Clear dark reddish black colour. Slightly sour bitter an roasty taste with some anise at the beginning. Also some licorice.

Anise on nose, palate. Thin, not many roasted tones, more like a spiced beer. Overly bitter. A nice fruity aroma though. Might have made a good ipa without the dark malt.

Pours a black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, anise, bubblegum and tar. Flavour of roasted malts, tar, anise, bitter hops and loads of licorice. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasty wth anise. Quite an unusual but tasty Porter at last.

Tap @ St.Urho´s. Poured black with a beige, lasting head. Aroma was barbeque sauce, anise and roasted malt. Flavor was pretty much the same, along with hops and some liquirice notes. Very strange, the BBQ didn´t do it for me. Light to medium bodied.

Pours dark brown, almost black with a tiny brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and some anise. Taste is quite spicy with notes of roasted malts, anise and hops. Bitter and roasty but refreshing finish thanks to anise notes. Okay, quite well balanced porter with a nice twist.

(Draught at St. Urho’s Pub’s Portteripäivät 2012, 20120215) The beer poured almost black. Its head was medium sized, dense and lightly brown. Aroma had hops, aniseed, pine and roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, liquorice, aniseed, pine, roasted malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, roasty and bitter. Not an ordinary porter (or similar) but I liked.
