3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, - JUN 14, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2008 (Draught@Bruuveri, 7.5% ABV, served extra chilled) Clear, darkish amber with no head. Mild aroma of fruity, toffeeish malt, and some fusels. Fruity and yeasty flavor with grainy, sweetish toffee maltiness and some alcohol (when cold). Medium body, low carbonation, some alcohol burn. Closer to Belgian ale this time, but still not at all complex or refined - and why is it filtered?
(Draught@Bruuveri, 8.2% ABV, was 6-4-6-4-11=3.1) Hazy reddish amber with a smallish, creamy and lacy head. Aroma of neutral malts and vegetables, reminds me of De Koninck brews. Grainy-alcoholic, caramely-malty flavor with vegetables and candy sugar. Medium-bodied palate with lowish carbonation and some alcohol. Quite a disappointment compared to even bulkier Belgian abbey beers. May just be too raw, though.
