Draught at a fantastic middle age style restaurant. Pours a nice reddish colour. Aroma of sweet malt and some spices. The flavour has toasted malt, caramel and spices.

Bottle at the Alus Arsenals beer restaurant in Riga. Pours a red colour with very fine lacing. Aroma of ginger, black pepper, alcohol, raisins, treacle and plums. Flavours of ginger, caramel, raisins, alcohol and plums. Nice ginger bite. Mild carbonation and light CO2 prickle. Foamy mouth-feel with a long ginger and caramel linger.

Aroma and taste of sweet malt, brown sugar, raisins, figs and a little ginger. The taste is watery. Rather boring!

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Riga. Moderate carbonation. Fruity and sweet, zero bitteness. Easy drinking.

Bottle. Amber color, offwhite head. Malty aroma, chocolate, burnt sugar and honey. Honey flavor with bready notes, some toffee.

(BBE 12/08) Dark amber-red colored with big yellow head. Sweet chocolate dominates this aroma with some sour berries, some herbal note also present. Medium bodied. Flavor is more berry with same herbal spicy note, aftertaste lasts with caramel.

500 ml bottle. From Latvia. Hazy red brown colour with small head. Sweet butter, spices and vegetables in aroma. Typical Brūveris beer aroma. Butter and spiced (ginger) flavour. Finishing with ginger.

500ml bottle. Red-brown color. Sweet malty aroma. Flavor is full malty and fruity with so light ginger tones. Not bad.

500ml Bottle - Brown in colour with some red/orange tinges and a lively head. Malty aroma with a hint of sweetness and a light dried apricot hint. Fruity and bready taste with raisins and a light ginger hint in the finish along with some roasted notes.

Bottle, 5.4%. Sweet buttery aroma, not horrible, but not enjoyable either. Clear dark brown colour with a red shine. Small tan head. The flavour is buttery, bready and strangely spicy, probably the ginger. Ginger in a dark beer can be quite good, but not in this one.

Draught as the house beer at the Medevial theme restaurant in Riga, also sampled bottled. Lovely ruby glow, sweet beer with a warm ginger bitterness. Different, but very nice. (It should probably be put in the "spice" category here)
