1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. A small, white head forms over a clear, golden body. Lots of butterscotch in the nose, with pale malts, some generic fruityness and a little caramel. It’s rather thin on the palate, nice carbonation. The flavor is more on the toffee side than the butterscotch side, but still it isn’t very pleasant. A little bitterness in the end. Certainly not a very pleasant one. 120218

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2012 Tap (The Brewery, Tallinn) (6:2:4:2:8=2.2)
Nice grainy aroma. Dry palate, drying even. Vey messy in the mouth. Golden, fizzy head. Sharp carbonation. Finish sacchariny. gets way worse as it warms. Tick this one quickly...
Rerate: Tap (ditto) (5:2:4:3:9=2.4)
Sweet corny grains. Vegetal, odd bitter tang. More corniness.

Tap (Alus Arsenals, Riga)
6 grainy aroma, but also slightly vegetal.
3- Light gold. Initially large fluffy head, settles to a ring.
6- Slightly vegetal hoppy first taste, but a full malty body too. A little milky.
3 Full smooth palate, pleasant carbonation. Big vegetal hoppy finish.
12 Very solid flavoursome lager.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On keg at the Alus Arsenals beer restaurant in Riga. Pours a blonde colour with a fair white head. Aroma of lemon, bready yeast, caramel and barley. Similar flavours with a little lemon linger. Very thin with a foamy mouth-feel, very low carbonation and light CO2 prickle.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Sweet malt aroma with a strange flavoring similar to stale honey. Sweet malt taste with a weird flavor (probably honey) and a dull bitterness in the aftertaste. Rather distasteful!

500 ml bottle. From Estonia/Latvia. Thanks FatPhil!
Clear deep golden colour with average sized white head.
Quite familiar Brūveris aroma with some honey, spices, mild metal and candle wax.
Flavour is malt, mild hops, vegetables, sweet honey and some spices. Dryish aftertaste. I’m not quite sure if Brūveris house aroma/flavour is what I really dig. Slightly watery.
