3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly cloudy medium straw, with a white head.
Funky, spicy aroma, malt, hay, citrus, apples, wheat.
Dry, medium body, low to medium bitterness, lively CO2.
Funky, spicy taste, malt, citrus, barnyard, Brett, quite acidic.
Very nice, but it seems to lack a bit in complexity. (2012-11-22)

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle. It pours hazy golden-orange pour with a large white head, fading quickly, and lots of fizzy activity. Aroma is lightly tart with lemon, funky with some barnyard notes, and a touch of bubble gum mixed in. Flavor starts with a punch of lemon tartness with some grass, followed by a light sweetening of pineapple and bubble gum together with a spicy touch of clove, cardamon, pepper and some funky yeast. Palate is tart and sweet with spice throughout but rather light in mouthfeel for as much carbonation showing in the glass. This beer is tasty and goes down easily with lots of flavor.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Binnys. Pours a hazy gold with a big creamy head that persists. Nose shows lots of cherry notes, lemon skin, pineapple, pilsner malt and perhaps apple candy. Faint plastic in the background? Lively and fruity overall. On tasting, subtle tartness in the front with a bitterness that sticks with you. Some grapes alcohol undertones and more of the cherry and apple candy notes. Good malt sweetness that finishes quite dry. Pretty cool beer and interested to see how it develops in time.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy orange, big loose uneven white head. Smells great - bretty and funky, dusty, plus some fruity, toasty notes. Nice flavor, too. Yeasty, dust, pineapple and an oaky hop finish. Each flavor component is sharp and well defined, as well. I wish I had more...

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
An interesting beer that is made for contemplation. I keep asking myself do I like this beer, and ultimately came to the conclusion not really. The brett does come through quite strong on this beer, which while being a selling point for some people, was not for me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml from Samís, Durham. Let me say right off the bat that this is an obvious possible rerate down the road (since I tucked away a second bottle), but I was none too impressed with this one. High hopes certainly played a role, but it was honestly fairly bland. Thinnish orange body, and an indistinct nose of fall fruit and the faintest tartness. Mouthfeel was a bit oily, not much going on. And the flavors were also fairly disappointing, with not quite so much base character aside from the very unassuming brett and fruit. Itíll be interesting to see if and how this develops. For now, pretty average.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Location: 750 ml bottle, 11/13/12
Aroma: The nose is fairly fruity, a little sour, with some definite brett, yeast, and a little spice
Appearance: It pours a clear bright orange color with a half inch of lasting white head
Flavor: The taste is fairly tart and funky, some light fruit, yeast, and little bit of earth/wood
Palate: The body of this beer is medium, it has a rather fizzy carbonation, and a dry, tart finish
I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I wouldnít say it is the best example of a beer made using brettanomyces Iíve ever had, but it does work quite well. This really is no knock, but as solid as this one is, honestly, I expected it to be even better considering the two breweries that were collaborating here.
