What began as mutual admiration between Sierra Nevadaís Grossman Family and Russian Riverís Cilurzos has grown and progressed into genuine friendship. Brux began as an idea and has grown into something altogether different:

The liquid manifestation of change over time.

Refermented in the bottle with Brettanomyces bruxellensis, Brux will change and develop over time. Copper-colored, dry and complex, with slightly tart notes of green grass, pear, spice and lemon - this ale will progress in the bottle for many years.

pours a semi-clear pale orange with a small white head that leaves without saying good-bye, and little to no lacing. smell is somewhat sour, floral, citrus, yeast, and a touch of spice. taste is carbonated, tart, citrus, wild yeast, a touch of malt, some fruits, and some caramel. ends tangy and tart.

Great sour aroma, but sadly the taste doesnít match. Weak and watery taste. Some wild yeast, some sour lemon, and a bit of cherry. A gift from Nick.

This poured a cloudy yellow color with a white head. aroma was lots and lots of brett, light wheat notes, lemon peel, and some other light spices. Flavor was a tad sweet for what I was expecting, light alcohol nnotes, some spice, and good amount of brett. Reminded me of a bretted triple.

25.4 oz. Bottle. Fresh. Lots of sediment, Brett, in bottom of bottle. Vinous, breadiness scent, Brett underneath, a little weak in strength. Bubbly white head to a ring over a copper high carbonated pour. Light body, crisp, with a fizzy finish - great! Delicate flavor, bright fruit (lemon), vinous, bread, Brett, peppery spices. A little expensive, but Iím going to age a bottle.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle is nice and slightly hazy orange with nice fluffy and streaming carbonation, nice white head. Aroma has nice notes of dusty cobwebs, lemon, biscuit, bread, some nice lactic, hints of white grape, pear, and peach, touch of earthy and dusty basement notes again. Taste is a nice mix of pear, peach, some white grape, grass, slight spice, touch of bready and yeasty malts, hints of earthy and spicy notes, some lemon and biscuity notes, finishing fairly sweet but some slight funk comes through. Definitely lacking in lactic from the aroma, but really a nicely done brett beer.

Pours a mostly clear copper color, large initial head quickly fades to nothing. Aroma is lightly barnyard, faint hint of lemon. Flavor is about the same - a light touch of bretty barnyard, a bit of lemon that suggests sourness, but doesnít quite get there, and an undefined spice note looms in the background. Subtle, bordering on elegant. Wish I had a second bottle to sit down for a decade, this could really evolve into something special. Or not. You just donít know with brews like this. This was a bit better than my score indicates.

750 Bottle. Was pretty excited about this one given the minds behind the brew, maybe I should have bought an extra to save for a later date. Interesting mix, unlike any of the farm house or sour bers I have tried. definitely enjoyable, but different than I was expecting, I guess I should have read the back of the label. Good beer but not sure I will spring $15 for another bottle as I prefer a more sour beer. Thanks to the brewers for putting this one out there.

750ml bottle. Rating #197. Bright orange color with a big white head that quickly disappeared. Green apple aroma, light funk. Flavor had more apple and ot was very dry. Pretty good. (2482)

Bottle pours a hazy golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Scent is fruit, yeast and musty. Taste is pear, herbal, a bit sour and a lot of tart.

Bottle. Clear copper pour with a white head. Lemon zest & fresh bread aroma. Effervescent, dry, and yeasty with some muted peach notes...
