COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What began as mutual admiration between Sierra Nevadaís Grossman Family and Russian Riverís Cilurzos has grown and progressed into genuine friendship. Brux began as an idea and has grown into something altogether different:

The liquid manifestation of change over time.

Refermented in the bottle with Brettanomyces bruxellensis, Brux will change and develop over time. Copper-colored, dry and complex, with slightly tart notes of green grass, pear, spice and lemon - this ale will progress in the bottle for many years.

Clear amber color with ivory sheen. Cobwebs, dust, cherry, lemon aromas. medium body. Nice dusty pale malt, dry hay, used book store musty flavors with dry light fruits--tasty sour

My Bottom Line :
Wooden, floral hops greet brettanomyces and citrusy edges in this very drinkable though soporific Wild Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A ring of foam surrounds the misty beige.
-The prickly carbonation feels detached from the rest of the brew.
-That head sure disappeared quickly; the brew feels flat too after a few minutes...
-This one just didnít feel like it had come together yet. Quite disappointing considering the very high standards both collaborating brewers usually set.

Bottle.

Pops hugely with a ton of carbonation. Pours clear golden with a huge bubbly white head. You can tell this beer is young with the aroma and flavor having Brett prevalent but not dominating. The wild and grassy flavors are quite nice. Canít wait to revisit this in a year or so.

750ml bottle - $13.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a hazed, deep amber-gold body with a craggy, rocky, white head that peters out fairly quickly but never quite vanishes.

Smell: Varied, mingled, sweaty notes of tart pears, Italian bread crumbs, finely-ground spices, oily citrus fruits, lavender, pickled ginger slices, and mildly funky Brett.

Taste: Golden barley, gently toasty with sweetish hints of well-spiced sugar-spice cookies. The sweetness dries out almost instantaneously. Embellishes of Chiclets and Sweet-Tarts midway into the flavor. Citric oils with some phenolic Brett character coming through, but itís never overtly wild. Peppery spice and some fleeting wild yeastiness on the sparkling finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Highly carbonated with a downright crackling mouthfeel.

Overall: I would say this could greatly benefit from some time away to let that lovely wild character develop. Brux, you are in TIME OUT.

(750ml bottle) Pours a hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of brett, straw, pear skins, mustiness, husks, and corn. Flavor of herbs, grass, nuts, brett, pear, and grass with a dry finish.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2012 Bottle at dans, courtesy of Aaron. Thanks Man! Poured golden orange in appearance with a small off-white head. Fruity, citrusy, tangy, funk, light brett, light alcohol, a touch of pepper, some grapefruit, and phenols in the aroma. Really interesting aroma. Taste is white pepper, sweet fruits, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, light brett, and vanilla with a lightly tart finish. Medium mouthfeel with huge carbonation. Really smooth and well-balanced beer, easy to take down. Not quite what I expected, but nice, nonetheless.

Tastes wild, as the name of the beer hints... Wish it were a bit more sour. Not bad.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburís Foco. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a small white head. Bretty, pineapple, orange citrusy, fairly tart, vanilla, tangy aroma. Tangy, slightly vinous, orange, slightly tropical fruity, blood orange, tart flavor. Interesting but not nearly as good as some of Russian Riverís offerings.

Pours a clear yet extremely carbonated golden with a bubbly white head. Tart aroma of apple, pear, banana, and some bread. The initial taste is sour and tart, so much so that it hides other flavors. After this settles, the fruity impressions, mostly apple and pear become apparent. The taste ends with potent sour finish that is long lasting. The sourness masks a great deal of the taste, which shouldnít be a problem if you like sour. Calling this one dry would be an understatement. Bitter at the end as well. Carbonation is very fizzy and bubbly. Alcohol content is masked very well. If you like this style, you should enjoy this. However, I canít label this among my favorites of these.

Bottle. Dark gold pour white head. Pretty hoppy aroma, light brett but rather discreet, slightly metallic. Taste is bitter, lots of hops no real acidity surprising. Palate is well carbed, kind of dry. Not bad but not as good as I expected.
