COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What began as mutual admiration between Sierra Nevada’s Grossman Family and Russian River’s Cilurzos has grown and progressed into genuine friendship. Brux began as an idea and has grown into something altogether different:

The liquid manifestation of change over time.

Refermented in the bottle with Brettanomyces bruxellensis, Brux will change and develop over time. Copper-colored, dry and complex, with slightly tart notes of green grass, pear, spice and lemon - this ale will progress in the bottle for many years.

Bottle at the Hillbrook: pours cloudy dark golden, minimal head that vanishes. Nose is fresh, green apple, pear, Brett, some oak. On the palate, dry and sour notes, pear and yeast. I agree with previous raters that this beer could use some age for complexity. Looking for another bottle to sit on.. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to snifter (thanks tmoney99). Looks fine; light orange with razor-thin lacing. Smells pretty good; earthy. Tastes good; tart. Mouthfeel is average. Solid.

3 ounce sample from a bottle courtesy of TJ from the Davis Beer Shoppe. Lightly tart aroma with hints of estery yeast notes. Mild banana character. Light fruitiness. Pretty faint nose, and not much happening here. Moderately hazy golden body with a small to medium off-white head present. Starts a bit dry, dusty, and yeasty. The middle has some marzipan notes and light fruitiness. Finishes a little spicy and bitter, witch very light underlying Brett. Needs a good while before you can expect any Bretty funkness out of this. Probably a year or so.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Brett and yeast aroma with light citrus/apple/pear. Malt and spice flavor with light tartness and light citrus/apple/pear. Medium bodied. Tartness lingers with citrus/apple/pear, spice, yeast, and brett.

A little disappointed...was hoping this would be sour like other RRs. Sparkly citrus flavor. Decent for a Belgian style but $16 is a little steep.

Pours a hazy orangish gold pour with a white head. Aroma of fruit with Belgian yeast and some Brett. It will be intresting to try this again after some age. Taste is fruity and some tartness. Love it now, and expect great things down the road.

Bottle from AJ’s Arcadia. Pours a hazy golden color with an off-white head. Aroma is fruit, earthiness, candied sugar. Taste is sweet with some tartness and funk. Thin bodied with a smooth finish. Very easy to drink.

24 karat pour with incredible rising carbonation bursting at the surface creating a 1/2 inch eggshell head. Nothing left inside the glass. Fruity, grassy, lemony aroma chalk-full of Belgian yeast and a hint of Brett. Looking forward to the Brett developing over time and the nice musty, pungent, earthy/dustiness that ensues. The complexity will come. This one’s too young. Average now, amazing later.

This is probably The most driest sour I have ever had.. You can can smell the Brett as soon as you pop this bottle open.. For being a 8 something ABV you can not taste any alcohol. There. I think this beer well get better with time.. But for now it is to dry for my blood. But overall really well made..

Bottle. An orange color with a white head. A delicious sweet, spiced and fruity aroma with a nice Belgian style flavor and finish. There is a lingering fruit and dry finish.
