3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
24 karat pour with incredible rising carbonation bursting at the surface creating a 1/2 inch eggshell head. Nothing left inside the glass. Fruity, grassy, lemony aroma chalk-full of Belgian yeast and a hint of Brett. Looking forward to the Brett developing over time and the nice musty, pungent, earthy/dustiness that ensues. The complexity will come. This one’s too young. Average now, amazing later.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is probably The most driest sour I have ever had..
You can can smell the Brett as soon as you pop this bottle open..
For being a 8 something ABV you can not taste any alcohol. There.
I think this beer well get better with time.. But for now it is to dry for my blood.
But overall really well made..

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 14, 2012 Lucky to get a preview draft of this at a Sierra Nevada/Russian River event at Monks in June 2012. Gorgeous golden orange honey pour with a foamy white head. Surprised at the spice notes that jumped out at me initially, cardamon and cinnamon especially. Fantastic full honey body. Some juicy fruit notes of pear and tangerine. Delicate oak notes. Thick, but clean and crisp. Gently sweet but also very dry. Only slightly sour and no particular funkiness yet. At the moment tastes like a deep complicated saison. Likely to turn wonderfully sour as it ages.
Update: Having it now in the bottle mid-September. Tastes fuller but did NOT turn more sour. Maybe even a touch sweeter than before, though still quite dry in balance. Not sure what direction this beer will take as it ages further.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Multiple glasses from bottles at the Russian River-Sierra Nevada dinner at Monk's. Pours a slightly translucent honey amber with a quickly-receding, thin white head. No lacing and a clean, reflective surface. Aroma of muscat grapes, cinnamon, ripe pears, apple cider, funky brett, wet earth, cherries, and some honeyed figs. Medium bodied with the most insanely balanced, tight, crisp, sweet palate. Flavors follow very closely along the lines of the aroma; cinnamon, crisp red delicious apples, tart, funky brett, subtle hop resins, and grapey sourness in the finish. This is amazing. Incredible Belgian.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour at Monks for Russian River/Sierra Nevada Collab dinner. Shared with Pat, Simon, and Sean. Pours a glowing pinkish orange, light head, not much lacing. Aromas of pears, apples, earthy tones, muscat grapes. Taste is somewhat mild on the brett side, nice, rustic and refreshing palate, fruit skins, cider, clove, slightly spicy yeast. Very easy going, perfectly balanced belgian. Cheers

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A not-really coppery pour (despite the commercial description) a tad more toward the golden, very quickly disappating white head. Some grassy/fruity tartness in the nose. Flavor was mildly tart, some apple/pear hints, mildly sour finish. The funk was in check a little more than I was hoping for here, but I still found this crisp and refreshing. This was from an unlabeled bottle from the brewers’ cache...and I understood that it has not actually been bottled or released commercially yet. Hopefully we won’t have to wait very long.
