COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
What began as mutual admiration between Sierra Nevada’s Grossman Family and Russian River’s Cilurzos has grown and progressed into genuine friendship. Brux began as an idea and has grown into something altogether different:

The liquid manifestation of change over time.

Refermented in the bottle with Brettanomyces bruxellensis, Brux will change and develop over time. Copper-colored, dry and complex, with slightly tart notes of green grass, pear, spice and lemon - this ale will progress in the bottle for many years.

This is one tremendous beer. Pours a slightly hazy yellow. Barnyard funk greets the nose but does not overwhelm. The taste is sprightly with some funk and sour melding together. Some fruit notes tag along for the ride as well. Thanks to Sierra Nevada and Surly Goat for sharing.

Several bottles. Dark brown / reddish colored pour with an off white head. Smells fruity with plenty of straw and hop aroma. Taste is sweet and pretty sour - refreshing, easy drinking - light. The 8.x% really creeps up. Good stuff

Bottle. Cork blew on this one. lost on a couple ounces. Pours clear orange with large tight bubbly head that fades quickly. Smell is lightly citrus, some funkiness and fruity. Nose is not as boastful as the taste. Taste shows a apples, pears, white grape, funk and lightly tart that is enhanced by sharp carbonation. This has developed into a lively complex brew. Tingly carbonation and very dry. Finishes lightly sweet and a hint tart. Very nice.

750ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a finger of fizzy head. Aroma is tart with a touch of funkiness, sour apple, and grapes. Taste is sour and fruity, horse blanket, some caramel, and yeast. Really fizzy carbonation.

Bottle at the Martin T tasting, CBC, 06/06/13. Big thanks to Ken for supplying this one. Hazed dark orange with no head. Nose is light funk, lemon, orange, straw, mild brett, herbal notes. Taste comprises grass, funk, straw, light yeast, lemon rind, darker fruits, herbal notes, pinch of spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Ok Belgian strong but lacks complexity - may be better in years to come?

750ml bottle pours and orange with white head. Apples and floral aroma. Mild taste after sitting for 10 months compared to drinking fresh. Not as tart with light fruit taste.

Pours a hazy, dirty blonde with a really big head. Smells like a decent Belgian ale and tastes like one, too. Citrus and bananas and yeasty, bready notes in the aroma and the taste, with just a slightly boozier finish than many Belgians offer. Very fizzy. Nothing shocking or surprising, but certainly tasty.

Bottle. This beer definitely has some cool stuff going on. Solid citrus and funk flavors playing off of each other.

Location/Date:Bottle split with Dave on May 24th, 2013.

Appearance: Pours a dark orange cloud.
Aroma: Aroma of light funk, yeast.
Taste: Like a belgian blond ale with light funk..yeasty, faint spice, faint funk/tart.
Palate:Light body, lingering sweetness.

Summary: I don’t like overly "wild" ales, so this hit a nice spot for me - similar to what Anchorage does. Interesting and nice.
