Blonde, hoppige tripel, verkozen tot beste hobbybier v Belgie in 2012. Zeer bitter bier met een aangename nasmaak. zeer mooi van kleur en structuur en een mooie volle witte schuimkraag. Zeker een aanrader!

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2013 Bottle, bought @ De Hopduvel, Gent. Pours completely clear golden with a medium, frothy, white head. Fine duration. Lovely crisp malts aroma, green and red apples, citrus freshness. Medium carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has light apple brandy, mild crisp maltiness. Warming and vinious finish.

Hazy blond coloured beer with large diminishing white head and no carbonation visible. Fruity hopped aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is spicy fruity ending bitter dry.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours clear golden in color with a whitish head. A bit of floral notes and mild perfume in aroma. A bit of hay as well. A bit of green hops, grassy notes in taste. Some dry aspects too in flavor. Pretty nice one, even if it is lacking the fruityness to a certain extent.

Bottled@HBF2013. Hazy golden colour with a mediumsized creamy white head. Aroma is fruits, wheat, glue and mild alcohol as well. Flavour is caramel, fruits, toffee and mild alcohol. Very pleasant tripel, quite much following the very old school style tripel.

Sample @ ZBF 2013 I did not like the aroma that much. Flowers, overripe, (wrang). Blond hazy. Off-white head, disappointing volume, fading, but lacing. Bitter, toast, fruity, hay. A little bitter aftertaste. Not inspiring.

(Bottled@HBF 2013, my Belgian rating #1500) Murky golden with a smallish, firm head. Nice fruitiness in the nose, with grassy hops and a touch of tartness. Orange-fruity flavor with not too much acidity, but still not too mushy. Finishes with a dry and grassy bitterness. Quite full body, slightly fizzy CO2. A clean and balanced, fruity and reasonably strong-hopped tripel.

Excellent new Triple, made by De Graal for Bryggja brewery. A beer that won the hobby brew contest here in Belgium. Well, what a great Triple this has become. It has everything to be called the perfect Belgian triple. Crispy hoppy, counter balanced with just that right amount of white candy sugar sweetnes , finished with that perfect 8.5 vol% of alcohol. Delicious malty sweet too, and the body is satisfying. Long lasting hoppy finish. Yes, a well succeeded new Belgian tripel. Highly recommendable.....

10/V/13 - 33cl bottle @ John’s place - BB: X/2014 (2013-xxx) Thanks to Kurt for the bottle!

Ar: 7, Ap: 3, T: 7, P: 3, O: 14, Total: 3.4

Little cloudy blond beer, small creamy white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, ripe fruits, melons, bubble gum, fruit cocktail in cans. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citric start (from the carbon maybe?), bit fruity, sweet, more citrus, bitter hops, slightly sour. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, yeast, lemony, bit soapy, citrus, bitter ending.

Original rating :

2/II/13 - on tap @ Brugs Bierfestival 2013 (2013-117)

Ar: 6, Ap: 4, T: 6, P: 3, O: 10, Total: 2.9

Note: the next day I sampled the beer from the bottle (without taking notes), but it was significantly better than from the tap. I brought a bottle home with me, which will be rerated in a few weeks/months, when the yeast will have had the time to work it’s magic.

Clear blond beer, very smooth creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet fruity esters, some banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, yeasty, bready, some banana peel. Aftertaste: bit metallic, pretty bitter, dry, bit grassy, hoppy and bitter yet pretty straightforward and blunt.
