Overwhelming sweetness dominates both aroma and especially taste. I am usually very fond of big sweet beers, so the idea of making a black dessert beer resembling port wine sounded somehow tempting. Only problem is that whatever the brewers "unique dessert beer technique" is, it most certainly does not ensure the production of good beer. Unbalanced, no complexity and screaming sugary sweetness. Mouthfeel is too thin, carbonation non-existent. I feel robbed of my 75 kr.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2015 Bottle at Food Festival Aarhus. Black without head or carbonation. Aroma caramel and honey as well as red fruit. Taste is very sweet. More like mead than beer. Could not finish even half a bottle because of the overwhelming sweetness ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours cloudy coffee brown with small dark tan head. Clear aroma of wine yeast, alcohol and sugar. Sweet flavour of fruit and sweet cherries, with notes of caramel. Tastes like sweet cherry wine with some yeast. Sweetish aftertaste. Drinkable in small amounts.

Countbeer (6192) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - FEB 2, 2014
Bottle: Served in Palm snifter: No head. Black colored beer. Aromas of spiritus, raisin, barley malts, toast/roast tints and some alcohol, cream and sweets. Flavours of sweets and sticky prunes, raisin and barley malts, brown sugars, some earthy tones, liquorice wood, caramelised malts. Sweet, sticky and strong with a complex edge. Aftertaste is light spicy (alcohol) with sweet tones, light sticky, prunes and raisin and sticky barley malts. No carbo, silky oily ish mouthfeel, full body and a close to oily texture. Complex, strange, but still pretty nice tasting!
