Cask gravity at Rare Breeds BF 06. Orange/gold with lasting white head. Citrus and salt aroma with a bit of chlorine. Full and creamy in mouth, peach and citrus fruit finish. Bit of earthiness. Odd aroma, but rest is a good golden bitter.

Cask conditioned - handpump - Malt Shovel, Northampton. A light golden coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. The aroma is fairly sharp hoppiness. The taste is quite bitter. Seems like a beer brewed in the old fashioned Northern way. Presume that’s what they set out to do?

Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury. Clouded amber, light head. Big farmy, sulphery nose, poo, but once past that it turns into a hoppy, fresh, slightly green bitter, with orange citrus notes. The smell from the beer is quite off putting though.

Chappel Fest. Soft, nutty, apple, toffee, gentle flowery hops. Touch of sulphur. Flavoursome session bitter. Chappel seems to attract more than its fair share of nutters. We got caught on the bench in the Goods Shed between a train enthusiast on one side and a heavy metal fan on the other. Both had drunk too much, and neither of them were bothering to engage their brains before allowing their mouths to dribble incomprehensible nonsense.
