Red-tinged amber brew that looks flat and under-carbonated on initial inspection. Subtle aromas of crystal malts, candi, and caramel. Rather limpid mouthfeel. Pleasantly warming, despite the modest ABV%. Enjoyable blend of crystal malt flavors with some woodiness and reserved fruit notes.

Sampled on tap at the brewery. Very little aroma at all, maybe some light biscuit, but no typical off aromas that can happen in bitters. Dark copper amber clear with no head. Medium watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with nice caramel and biscuit malt taste, clean, with thin bitter character. Some cherry wood notes. Light fruity finishing character and just a bit astringent.

Tap at the brewery, actually put on the day I visited, and I was told it was a big early, but this was easily the best beer available. Cloudy, murky orange color, good foamy head. Fresh fruity hops and heavy homebrew-esque yeast in the nose. Bitter and biting and grassy, fresh, nothing spectacular but the freshness certainly is nice. The yeast is so heavy, it being a oung beer, but it really just ended up tasting like homebrew. Crisp and peppery, though, I enjoyed this one.

I thought this was a lower than average craft beer. The draft at the brewpub was noticebly dry and poured a clear red. Not too much of an aroma. Medium character. I preferred the Droolin Elf from the evenings selection.

had a tad of hops in the aftertaste along with its bitterness, pretty good body, mild bitter aftertaste. overall fairly good.
