afireinside96 (390), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA May 20, 2008 tapped a deep amber with a dense nitro-looking head. sweet smelling and tasting it is lacking a bit in complexity, but more than makes up for it in drinkability. very smooth for the supposed 5.9 % abv, I polished off 2 pints before my food even arrived. kmweaver (1948), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Oct 21, 2007 Draft, Bube’s. Pours a bright, cherry-amber color; headless. Very minimal aroma: some dried fruit and caramel, at most. Average carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: chewy dried fruits, cherries, and caramel at the core; decent weight and viscosity in the mouth; on the sweet side, but good density at the center and mild mineral bitterness; medium, dried red fruit and caramel in the finish; well-balanced throughout. hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2007 On tap at the Bubes Brew Pub. Poured a deeper amber color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, earthy, and grainy. Tastes of lighter earthiness, nutty, toffee and caramel. TomDecapolis (2389), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2007 Pours a reddish/orange/amber with a smaller bubbly/creamy off white head. Aroma of malty sweet grains, toffee, nuts, some floral and caramel notes. Flavor of nuts, malty sweet grains, some citrus, molasses and toasted malts. Nejhleader (779), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA May 11, 2007 I wasn’t too impressed with this brew. Body was kinda thin, taste was lacking, maybe it wasn’t fermented long enough or it got tainted, but this just didn’t taste all that great.
