COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a traditional Bavarian Schwarzbier style with a deep color and a smooth rich flavor. Specially roasted malts give the black color and mild roastiness to this beer while Munich, Caramel, and Honey malts add depth and character to the malt flavor. Moderately hopped with noble aroma varieties to achieve a perfect balance and a clean finish this beer is a perfect complement to smoked, grilled, and roasted foods, flavorful meats and cheeses or chocolate desserts.

Thanks to Turdferguson for sharing this one. Far less P00tzy than the orange hell we tried. Decent pour with some livey carbonation. Slight anise in the nose with some malts and a trace of smoke. Flavors dissipate quickly, though, in a depressingly thin mouthfeel that ultimately borders on watery. Is fading character better than having no character? Not sure.

Can from a trade on BA. Thanks James. After drinking that orange blossom monstrosity, I still had high hopes for this one. It didn’t disappoint too much. Mildly smoky, hops, a bit of malt. A little better than average schwarzbier and pretty true to the style.

Thanks to turdferguson for sharing. Pours a dark brown with some ruby, sits black. Head is about a finger thick and light tan. The nose is malty, some sweetness, milt peat smell, bready, popcorn. The flavor is smoky, peaty, bready, thin, chalky, some chocolate flavors. Palate is thin and lacks carbonation.

Dark brown pour with a thin head. Dark bread, caramel, and nice earthy hops in the aroma. Dry earthy flavors, some roast. A nice crisp hoppy finish. Lingering dry finish. Really nice actually.

16 oz can my friend Tim gave me at the Bistros BA Fest to bring home. Nose is caramel, some oalaberries, and chocolate, like a dark chocolate covered berry. Clear dark brown with a medium beige head. Flavor has chocolate and caramel with a light bit of the fruity berries, bitterness, and coffee. Good Schwarzbier.

Smoky, malty aroma deepens as it warms. Very smooth, medium body, rich flavor with coffee, cocoa, smoky, coconut and vanilla notes also increasing as it warms. Balanced bitterness and clean finish.

A very roasty, almost smokey black beer. Not much head, poured jet black, and went down smooth. Perfect carbonation, and not overly sweet or sticky, finished close to dry.

Can. Pours a dark, cola-brown color; light brownish tan head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Solid amounts of roasted malts, chocolate, and chewy sweet nougat in the aroma; some green apple notes present as well here; still, nicely roasted and malty. Lively carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: again the young-ish, green apple note is present, though lighter than in the aroma; roasted malts, cocoa, dark chocolate and cola; nougaty, generous beer while maintaining some crispness and toast. Medium finish: toast, roasted malts, chocolate, and nougat; crisp end.

Can & from growler. Dark brown with tan head and OK lace. Light beer that is very sessionable. Light malts on aroma with coffee and yeast. Body is medium-light with decent carbonation for a fairly dry finish. Flavor is mild with some cocoa and coffee roastiness, and sugary malts. Smooth, well balanced, light and easy drinking. Ale flavorings in lager fermentation. It’s a "demi-porter."
