3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oscbert (769) - Sacramento, USA - JAN 1, 2012
~Sharp biscuity malt aroma with spicy earthy hop, and light aroma.
~Pours black with red highlights and thick lasting off white head.
~Roasty malt flavor with spicy earthy hops.
~Med light body, med CO2, roasty bitter finish.
~Great aroma, Flavor fell a bit short. A bit too roasty and makes it off balance. Some sweetness would be nice. Still well done and enjouable brew.

Dark with a large beige head. Aroma seems a bit off. Metallic, light roast, a bit of fruit. Thin, highly carbonated, chalky body. Flavor has light roast, a bit of molasses. Ok.

I should have saved this noddy for the tasting, good from the start. From a pounder can! Friendly overall dark lager beer introduction which cariies through with a slight wild tart background. Nifty wifty co2 in there too, makes it all the more interesting. Beauty of a head and the lacing is like your favorite mate’s undergarments. Mildly roasty aroma. Towards the finish its not as good as the comencement but it really is a good overall beer exoerience. Accolades. Would easily purchase a sixer. Yep, should have saved this mildly wild beer for the tasting. Finish is like old burnt wet campfire wood hiding in the bacjground.

From a can, thanks to ole College Buddy Ken! And Tina! Poured Black with a tan creamy head that didn’t quite last as long as I hoped. Started out real nice! Aroma was of roasted dark malts. Started out tasting rather nice with rich malts, but almost got vinegary after pouring into a glass and breathing a few minutes. That’s when my ratings started dropping! Too Bad!
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jgb9348 (3492) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 19, 2012
Deep dark brown coloured body with a touch of glow at the bottom and a two centimetre tall tan head on top that fades fairly fast. Aroma of funk, hops, rice, oats, raisins and perhaps a bit of malt. Light-bodied; Sharp pungent funk and raisins with a bit of concord grapes, some odd smoked malt and a little off funkiness at the very end. Aftertaste hasn’t got much complexity with a bit of malt sneaking in to the caramel and sweet finish. Overall, not a great beer for sure, but not abhorrently awful either. I’m not sure why this status is retired, as I bought mine recently and it seems that others have been sampling it as well. Regardless, it’s not a beer worth searching out, even if it’s readily available! I sampled this 50 cL can purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 03-February-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-April-2012.
