Bottle. Dark brown body, with a small off white head. Mildly spicey nutmeg/nutty aroma. Sweet malt with nutty notes, flavour has just enough bitter hops to to make it interesting. Average palate. Pleasant but unexceptional.

On tap at pub, brown pour with little white head. Aroma is toffee, cereal, chicory. Taste aligns, but is really subued. Add a little licorice flavour. Kinda watery.

650ml bottle pours brown in color with a moderate white head and a few spots of lacing. Aroma is caramel and a hint of aromatic hops. Taste is caramel sweetness with a hint of fruitiness and a mild hoppy bitter finish. A decent brown ale which was decently balanced with flavors, but a little thin on body and lightly carbonated.

Tap @ brewpub. Caramel, brown appearance with an off white head. Pretty nice, hazelnutty, toffee, malt centric nose. Nutty, caramel, toffee, big malty flavor. Good session beer.

Pours light brown with a light head. Aroma of oily dark malts. Flavour is a weak nutty flavour, almost stale tasting. Not too good.

Glass, 5 ounces, cask, at the pub, savoured on April 30, 2009; eye: copper, clear, no effervescence, tiny ring of tan head, slight lacing; nose: light nuts, light dusty, light basement, light ash, slight caramel; mouth: watery, light malt, light nuts, light dusty, light chocolate milk, watery finale in malt with presence of ash, medium-light body, lightly sweet, slightly bitter, not much carbonation, thin; overall: disappointing, the nose was announcing something interesting but the mouth was not there

Aroma suggests pears, brown sugar and toasted malts with a floral undertone. Hazy amber-brown body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled tan head that recedes to a relatively well-lasting cover with some nice lacing. Sweetness up front is joined by a quick hit of dark malts and light offsetting bitterness. Caramel lingers in the aftertaste. Medium full body with wonderful soft-bubbled carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Apr-09.

Brown-amber color. It has some caramel aroma and a mixed caramel-roasted malt flavor, with a medium dry mouthfeel. Straightforward beer, but quite good.
