Some caramel aroma. It has a medium sweet flavor, that strangely reminds me a watered Barley Wine; soft mouthfeel; good bitterness, ending with the correct mix of caramel too. Good. tiggmtl (4274), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Aug 1, 2008 Thick, chewy caramel malt aroma with light fruity esters and floral, earthy hops. Hazy, deep copper coloured body is topped by a generous and lasting off white head that leaves some lace. Caramel up front but not overly sweet. Decent offsetting bitterness with floral and earthy hop flavours. Esters are apparent especially in the aftertaste. Quite dry with medium body and creamy texture offset by pleasantly prickly carbonation. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Aug-08). Pours a dark copper with a foamy medium white head. Aroma is caramel malt and light fruit hop. Flavour is slightly boozey which is odd...medium malt body. Tart fruit tones and a lingering tart-bitter finish
JHunter (203), British Columbia, Canada Jul 26, 2008 pours a amber colour with a some caramel aroma and a nice easy bitter taste. very easy to drink DuffMan (2548), currently living in NZ, but from, Alberta, Canada Jul 18, 2008 Burnt orange amber, brief white head leaving patchy lace. Interesting and enticing fruit aromas, hard to characterize, but guava, gooseberries, and pear are being awoken in my consciousness. Aromatic fruity hops on a cushion of sweet malt, with a medium bitter finish of medium length. Enniskillen (1857), Salinas, California, USA Jul 6, 2008 Amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is caramel, fruit, light smoke, and caramel. Taste is a light hoppiness, caramel, and a really weird vegetable type note. jcwattsrugger (4908), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 16, 2007 on hand pump-pours a disappearing off white head with bubbles and copper color. Aroma is medium malt-caramel. Taste is medium malt-caramel, fruit-apple, a bit syrupy although light body. Fits the style.
