Bradrcr (778), Renton, Washington, USA Sep 22, 2007 7/14/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is full of hops with earthiness, grassiness and some resin balanced by light sweet malt. Appearance is light gold with a moderate white head. Flavor is extremely sour and unfortunately, the only hop character is musty and earthy. Mouthfeel is low bodied with low carb texture and a funky resiny finish. Overall, a big let down from a fairly good aroma. TipsyMcStager (900), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 17, 2007 floral hop aroma. Pours an amber brown with minimal head. Strong, bitter finish. Mid range body. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 10, 2007 Sampled at the Hotel. Best of the 6. Thick glove of a head. Strong lacing. Dark amber beer. Friendly familiar hop nose. Mostly woody scent. Strong hop body. Enjoyable bitterness. Not rough, just strong. Tinge of sweet alcohol in the finish. Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2007 Draught sample at Swans Hotel. Nice aroma. Fresh fruity hops with notes of apricot and pear. Mild tannic tang and sweet biscuity malt. Medium orange-amber clear with foamy lacing off-white head. Medium-heavy watery body with mild carbonation. Nice fruity sweet malt to start, with biscuit and a dry nutty bitter finish. Not harsh with good bitter balance but just a bit on the sweet side. Sweet malty after and limited bitterness. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 21, 2007 Faint malt aroma - some hops in there too. Pours a lovely amber with a fantastic jagged-peak head with great lacing. Northwestern hops about - enough thick maltiness to balance. Lingering warm finish - the 6.8% is apparent; thjs is not a session beer! So-so carbonation and a bit thin and dry on the finish. Overall, one of the better IPA’s I’ve had from the Island. Nicely done! patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2006 tap at the brewpub (or cask? they didn’t say, but mouthfeel was similar to cask ales) - This orangish-amber colored ale has a light hoppy aroma that could have used some more aromatic hops. The thin head lingered and left some lacing. A crisp hop flavor with good malt balance and mild pine notes is complemented by a lightly carbonated, medium bodied palate. The finish is pleasantly bitter. Nice beer. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Sep 13, 2006 Cask sample GCBF. Golden colour with not much head. Aroma of peaches and grapefriut. Much the same in the taste with quite a bit of malt. Good drinkin’ joss (3632), Garching b. München, Germany May 22, 2006 Bottle. Hazy amber, low off-white head. Fairly fruity, sweet fullness with a fitting pine and grass hop profile. Feels a bit green.
