3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 blankboy (4437) - Toronto, - JAN 25, 2008
Bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear orange-copper with a large lasting fluffy off-white head. Nice aroma of caramel malt, citrus & resin hops, fruit, light spices and some yeastiness too. Flavour’s pretty bitter, with lots of citrus & resin hops along with some fruit, caramel malt and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Very good, another quality Canadian IPA and once again not from Ontario.

Pineapple and resin, bouncing back and forth, quite fun. Nice orange colour, even brighter than an average IPA. Sweeter, too. If you told me there was some kind of rind in there I just might believe you.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 riversideAK (4560) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Big hoppy aroma. Perfumes floral and big citrus fruit. Caramel and pale malt sweetness underneath. Pours golden, good clarity, nice head and lace. Fruity and floral bright and hoppy. Citrus and perfumes flavors on top of light caramel and balanced pale malt sweetness. Lingering fruity floral hops. Really solid. Had a few of these.

Nice IPA. Mostly golden mug from the pub. Thin head. Aroma is delicious bright citrusy hops. Taste is similar, add some resin from the hops and some caramel sweetness to balance it out. Very enjoyable.

650ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a big white head and plenty of nice lacing. Aroma is citrusy and earthy hops. Taste is dominated by earthy and citrusy hop bitterness with a bit of malty sweetness to help balance things out. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated for a nice tingle on the tongue. This is a pretty fine IPA.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 OldGrowth (1859) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 25, 2011
pint at Swans hotel, 09/15/11. part of pub crawl from beer cruise. Good aroma, sweet. Good citrus and pine mix. orange, grapefruit, some apricot. hint of evergreen. Brownish orange color, nice head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Good stuff, wonderful on the palate. looked great in the glass. Aroma led the way, flavor was a little mellow. but good one to try as I only had about an hour here.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 blomster (129) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 4, 2011
Tried on tap at the brewpub and bottle at home, I can´t say there are any differences in the two.
Pours hazy amber, decent head. Aroma of tropical fruits; mango, peaches, apricot, some resin, caramel in the background.
Less fruits in the taste, instead it’s quite piney, with a somewhat sweet maltiness. Medium bitterness, high carbonation. Quite a good Canadian IPA.

Tap @ brewpub. Burnt orange appearance with a white head. Piney, resiny hoppy nose. Nice pale malty, piney, resiny flavor. Ok.

5 ounce sample draft at the Swans bar at $10.00CAD for 6-samples. Very good.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6349) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2011
My Bottom Line:
Bountiful citrus fruit don other tropical fruit costumes before mineral notes underpin a part of this IPA’s freshness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A frothy head of foam covers the misty golden amber.
-The mouthfeel is lean and softly carbonated.
-Hop aromatics are very enticing.
-If the finish had been a tad more bitter to level out the intensity of the aroma, this would have been stellar.
-Malts build sustenance, but do not develop loads of flavor.
On cask at Alibi Room.

Old rate. Pours a golden amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. Caramel, earthy, and citrus aroma. Caramel and dark bread flavours with a moderate grapefruit and earthy bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy mouthfeel. Atypical for the style but still pretty good.
