On tap.Lots of coffee! A robust style, tobacco on the nose, and coffee flavour, a bit thin, simple, grain is palpable.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 CapFlu (4012) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 1, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 15, 2013 (Draught) Sampled at Swan’s Brewpub. Very different experience. Has a chocolate ice cream flavour. Good flavour with typical Swan’s slight wateriness. Better. [Updated rating 3.5; February 15, 2013]
(650ml bottle) Purchased at Spinnakers In Vic West. Ours a thin, near headless black body. Nose of bitter chocolate and rich coffee. Slightly soured, very bitter cocoa... Thin, light palate. Needs more malt base for the palate and perhaps +1-2% ABV. Fair. [Original rating 3.0; July 1 2012]

Coffee disguised as beer. If you were to heat this up, pour it in a mug and drink it in the morning you’d be getting the best of two worlds. (I’m not a coffee drinker or I would have ranked this much higher).
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 blomster (156) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 24, 2012
Bottle. Huge gusher. Way overcarbonated. Pours dark brown with a high, fizzy head that settles fast.
Aroma of milky chocolate with some coffee in the background, also some wet dust. Taste is coffee, with a bit of roasted malts. Some acidity. Light bodied, thin texture, very abrupt finish.
With that gusher and overcarbonation, I had anticipated tasting a clearly infected beer, but I can´t detect any off flavours that an infection would cause. Forgettable beer.

Dark brown. Big huge coffee aroma - quite roast. Taste has lots of coffee, some acidity in the finish but is a little bit thin on the malts.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is just like a cup of medium roasted coffee with little else. Flavour of sweetened medium roast coffee, without being cloying - pretty monolithic flavour profile. Not complex, but good for what it is. Light, smooth palate. Solid.

Bottle purchased at Swans Liquor store. This beer was exactly what I expected - smells like a fresh cup of coffee. Coffee, dark chocolate, and sweet malt come through on the palate with a smooth, creamy, sweet coffee finish. Heavy coffee flavours in this brew, and maybe a little bit too sweet, but an enjoyable seasonal treat.
