Tap at Alibi Room. Very sweet aroma. Heavy and toasty with a sticky sweet aroma. Chewy pale malt and a touch of light cherry character. A bit of apricot and peach with a lot of estery yeastiness. Not a whole lot in the way of hoppiness, but it’s not a bad English style barleywine.

Bottle split with mcberko. Pours cloudy gold/orange with a white dissipating head. Aroma citrus fruits, oak, grain, orange peel. Flavour of biscuit, grain, citrus fruits. Mildly sweet, with a pleasantly bitter hoppy aftertaste

355mL bottle, pours hazy orangey gold. Aroma of apple juice, butterscotch and candied sugar. Flavour is dominantly apple juice, sugar, butterscotch and some barrel-like notes. On par with the regular one.

Bottle@Home, aged for about 18 months. Very strong flavoured, loads of hops, malts and all kinds of spices/herbs. Also very fruity and very complex.

Pours reddish brown with very minimal head. Strong spicy aroma and flavour (spicy orange, nutmeg, oak, etc). Not as thick body as I would have expected. Alcohol hidden decently well, but not at all "warming". Would serve well to age for a few more years.

courtesy of fiulijn - hazy amber-brown colour with a poor foam left; aroma of almonds and prunbes; pretty hoppy; full-bodied with a sweet malt backbone; a decent bitterness and a long malty fruity (cherry and prune) finish - sumptuous

At Swans. Berry and wood aroma. Dark red, low head. Dry wooden, light phenolic flavor. Medium body, slick mouthfeel extremely dry on the tongue. Gets delicious after a bit of air.

Hazy red - dark amber color; small creamy head. Strange aroma, grocery store, cookies, my home made lasagna, light fudge, maple syrup. Sweet caramel and fudge flavor, some maple syrup, nutty, milky; strong body, the bitterness is subdued. I like sweet drinks, so I also like this one, but it wouldn’t be the one that could get me into Barley Wines. Generous mark.

Aroma of oranges, wood and sweetness. Clear orangey pour with a thin white head. Flavor of oranges, wood and sweetness. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and moderate carbonation. A bit underwhelming for a barley wine.

Bottled. A red-amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, caramel, prunes, and sirup. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel and over ripe fruits, as well as notes of cinnamon, and prunes, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

12 fl oz bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is dark malty and slight cheesy. Roasted malty, overripe fruity and dark caramelish. Slight herbal bitterness and dark roasted malty. Lasting dark malty into the far finish.
