2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Verbatim from notes 16JUL11
Honey ale with brilliant clarity and no head, no surface foam. Sweet malt and a few eathy tones of hops. Some bland bitterness early with plenty of sweet malt. Super oxidzed. Mouth is a mod to heavy with lighter carb and slick finish. Overall wish there were some better hop applications here.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap. Pours a clear copper body with a small wispy white head that completely vanished. The nose is more caramel malt than hops, overly sweet with minimal floral hops. The flavor is not much different, rather sweet with minimal hops, save for a slight floral note on the finish. Light to medium bodied, a little sticky and clingy with soft carbonation. Pretty blah, and there was a light chemical like note that came out as it warmed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Malty, light hop and fruity aromas over a low carbonated golden copper coloured beer. A nice example of a pale ale with good bitterness that lingers. A pretty good beer but very long lasting on the palate.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Below average pale ale. Slight aroma of hops. Pours copper with a little lacing. Not really very serious of a pale ale. It’s more pale than ale. On tap at brewpub.

On tap.Surprised this is an APA, tasted British to me, with a berry hop aroma and biscuity malt, a bit of caramel. The best of the six I tried this time around.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2012 Rerate from tap: Tap at Swans. Hazy golden, creamy offwhite head. Mild fruity, light hop balance with a dry grassy edge, some hidden grain. Light, but surprisingly chewy. No epiphany, but quite pleasant. Old rating: 6 4 6 3 11. Light citric cascade on straw. Golden, white head. Light sticky straw, grassy citric, straw flavour. Dusty aftertaste, quite sticky. Ok chewyness.
