650ml bottle pours a deep amber color with about 2 fingers of white head that settles quite quickly leaving a few spots of lacing behind. Aroma is dominated by raspberry. Taste is raspberry with some underlying malt sweetness and a trace of hops with a dry tart finish. A pretty nice fruit beer.

The Great BrewDad Victoria Pub Crawl - Great Fruit aroma and flavor. This was a very good fruit beer.

tap at the brewpub - Pours dark reddish-amber with a thin head and a strong raspberry aroma. The flavor is fairly light and led by sweet raspberry with some caramel maltiness alongside in a slightly too thin body. The finish has some mild alcohol flavor. Not bad.

Sweet fruity syrup berry nose on top of a stronger blonde beer base. Pours amberish with some red tints. Berry sweetness, strong blonde wheat beer base. Lingering sweet berry notes. Perhaps a little too much berry sweetness for my liking, but I do like fruit beers so.....

On tap at Swans. Smooth, but that’s about where the list ends. A bit artificial.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2006 (Draught) 2003 Silver Medallist @ CDN Brewing Awards. Thin, white head with a mohogany body. Slight jammy nose but good alcohol tone to cover the aroma. Flavour is sweet, tart with a decent ABV. I see no reason to mark this beer less than GOOD!

Dark amber with slight reddish hue. Strong raspberry aroma. Light body with hints of dark malt underneath a predominantly fruit-syrupy flavour. There is a slight malt chewiness in the finish that salvages things somewhat, but I’m not into it.

At Swans. Raspberry nose. Red amber, low head. Quite berrylike compared to others, light roast. med to light body, dry mouthfeel. Drinkable actually he said surprised.

Pours a brown colour with a hint of pink. It develops a lot of foam, but it quickly dissipates. The aroma is mostly of raspberries. It is medium bodied, but feels a little light on the carbonation. The taste is mostly of light malts, and some raspberry. The raspberry taste is closer to a syrup or jam-like flavour, and it lingers in the aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2009 (Buckerfield’s Berry Ale - Strong Fruit Ale): Aroma is pleasantly tart and full of berries. Underlying doughy, sweet malt character is notable. Clear amber-copper coloured body is topped by a fizzy off white, large bubbled head that recedes very rapidly to a slight ring. Toasty and lightly grainy and sweet malt flavour underscores the tart berry flavours. Tastes almost like a fruity ginger ale and the dry medium-light body and strong fizzy carbonation reinforce that impression. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (BB Nov-Wk 4-08, Brewery Creek, Apr-08).
