2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft - Lemon, grass, banana and spice. Cloudy yellow, with a thin white head. Bitter lemon, grass, banana and a long yeasty bitter finish. A little harsh and edgy for a Wit.

On tap @swansvictoria. Hazy orange-yellow with foamy head. Big mandarin orange with coriander, Belgian yeast and a background funk (beat). Significantly hopped up. A peculiar (but not bad) take on the style.

Vertabim from notes 16JUL11
Light ale with no head and a good wheat color with hazy tone (should be a little more hazy). Wheat, yeast, coriander, grain on the nose. Pretty standard fare. Lots of sweet wheat on the flavor wit hsome more yeast and hints of clove. Thin and flat for the style. Dry finish, this is totally off IMO. Not a good example of the style.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample. Pours hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus spice and yeast aroma. Medium body to a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium spice sweet flavor with a medium sweet citrus finish of an average duration. My expectations where met.

Taster at Swans in Victoria. Light, hoppy, not really witbier-like. Not a fan.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
pours golden yellow, very nice thick foamy head, good thick retention, lots of sticky lacing, lots of active CO2 streams. Filtered apple juice from concentrate on the nose. 4/10-sweetness level, notes of Sun-rype apple juice, sharp fizzy CO2, light malt, ends with a soft dry bitter finish. Medium complexity, light-medium depth, okay carry, good length, good drinkability. Drinks like a hybrid apple-cider/wheat beer. Unique experience for me but failed to wow.

Tap @ brewpub. Cloudy, light yellow appearance with a white head. Spicy, coriander, yeasty, light wheat malty nose. A little tangy, spicy coriander, orange citrusy, light wheat flavor. Ok.

On tap at the brewery-hotel. Very hazy bright yellow, clingy meringue on top. Citrus and wheat aroma, with some light spice showing up in the palate. Slightly tart finish. Very nice summer sessioner.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2010 Tap. Cloudy yellow. Low head. Fine flowery citric hop aroma. Pleasant citrus flavor, lime orangepeel. Citrus yeast and hop notes work well together, spices not apparent. Medium body, light sparkly. Fine rendition of the style.
