3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sammy (5888) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2011
Bomber from brewery. Passable DIPA, but somewhat overated. Orange coloured body with low amount of head. Neutral aroma. Alcohol was hidde by the hops and malt, and got some orange flavour from the amarillo and summit, but not all that much. Finish was more malty and ordinary.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hopper (751) - The Alamo, Texas, USA - DEC 21, 2010
22 oz. brown bottle courtesy of miketd. A very clear golden beer with a small fast fading head. It’s appearance is not its greatest attribute. The aroma is outstanding. Big juicy hops bursting with citrus and pine. Fruity and maybe even some spice like cinnamon. The taste is very smooth going down and drinks like a lower ABV which it is not. Sweet at first then a lot of orange and other citrus’. Slightly spicy. This is a good DIPA with a phenomenal aroma and really surprised me.

Big thanks to Tyler for this bottle. First beer I’ve had from this brewery.
Pours a crystal clear, deep amber with some bubbles streaming to the top and feeding a small creamy beige head that leaves some decent lacing on the sides.
The aroma is heavy on the citrus hops with grapefruit and pineapples jumping out. Light bready malts and some caramel sweetness in the background but the hops are the star of the show in the nose and have a slightly astringent character to them.
Taste has an initial blast of oranges and grapefruit, bitter and astringent on the palate, with a sugary sweet caramel backbone following on. The finish has a mixture of the bitter grapefruit and resinous pine hops.
The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a little bit lower carbonation than I was expecting.
This is certainly an impressive introduction to a new brewery for me - an aggressively hopped DIPA that still remains very easy to drink. Really good beer.

Tap at Beer Engine. Deep golden pour. The nose is intensely hoppy. Bright mango and tropical hoppiness. Fresh and incredibly hoppy. Light pale malt sweetness balanced by a soft peppery character. Bitterness is restrained, but the hoppiness certainly isn’t. Fruity and chewy. An absolute hop assault, but it is really damn tasty.

tap @ the Beer engine - arouma is grapefruit, caraml. Nice balance, and perfectly attenuated (no easy feat for a double). Sweet but finishes dry and floral.

Piney notes of pineapple and mango. Medium sweet, medium plus hoppiness, well balanced, and quite drinkable for the high hop levels.

On tap at Buckeye on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Big pine and sticky citrus. Medium bodied, juicy hop flavors, nice and earthy. Long bittern grapefruit finish with some malt tones.
