2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 dkoonce (905) - People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA - JUL 14, 2009
On tap at Broney’s for Brew Week in Athens. Light straw color and crystal clear. No head evident. Minimal aroma. A little sour, since it was a fresh keg for the festival, I think it may have been the wheat, or the honey listed on the tag.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2009
22 oz. bottle. Clear orange, medium, dense, white head, marginal lace. Nice fresh hop aroma of pine and grapefruit over a bed of toffee and light stone fruit.. Medium body with pine resin on a dry palate. The flavor offers up some clover honey to start with a citrus peel bitterness that starts to come on mid palate and ushers in a long, bitter, thirst quenching finish. I liked this, a very respectable example of the style.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thewombat (112) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUN 8, 2009
Dark yellow pour, smell is weak, acidic and harsh. Light bodied, heavy carbonation. Taste is very bitter, spicy hop bite.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MAP (1133) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - JUN 2, 2009
Single bottle purchased at Rozi’s for $3.49 a bomber. Hell yes to that, take that recession! The aroma is a nice almost english malt scent, but kind of smells lager-ish. The flavor is pretty simple, crisp and grassy. A hint of lemon but lots of crisp strong planty malt flavors. I see myself picking this up since the price is right (for once).
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JaBier (3212) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 31, 2009
On tap at Buckeye Beer Engine. Pours clear copper with a medium white head. Citrusy amarillo hop aroma with a light malt influence. Bitter earthy and citrusy hop flavor with a malt balance and a clean bitter finish.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nephilium (951) - Ohio, USA - MAY 29, 2009
(Serving from a 22 oz. bottle) Nice crisp hop nose, with strong citrus notes. Pours a clear amber, with a dusting of white head. Strong hop characteristics, light on the palate. A very nice summer beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Snojerk321 (2954) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 28, 2009
22oz bottle from crizay. Poured a mostly clear golden orange with a 1 finger thick white head that diminished to a small ring. Nice nose of citrus hops and a biscuit, bready quality. Flavor held good citrus with some hop bitterness. On the front of the tongue, everything seemed good, as it got to the back of my throat, a kind of weird metallic sourness kind of turned me off of this beer. As it sat and opened up a bit, the metallics gave way to assertive bitterness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2009
Thanks to JaBier for sharing a bottle. The beer is a mostly clear orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily. Hoppy aroma with bready malt notes. Medium body with sweet malt and Amarillo hops flavors, as well as a touch of grain. The finish is moderately hoppy with a lingering bitterness left over. Above average overall.

This poured a nuice orange colorw ith an eggshell head. Aroma was a bit sweet, but also contain a nice punch of that unique amarillo aroma. Flavor was very balanced and smooth with lots of amarillo hops. Its a bit medicinal, but thats expected from amarillo hops, overall a refreshing Pale Ale.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cliff (394) - Avon Lake, Ohio, USA - MAR 13, 2009
I can’t get enough of this stuff. Had both in a bottle and on tap. This is Buckeye’s Amarillo IPA’s baby brother. Crystal clear with that awesome Amarillo nose. Malty with a fantastic dose of hops. As sessionalble ABV, I could drink this stuff everyday easily. Great new beer from and underrated brewer.
