It wasn’t even close to being as fresh, hoppy and citrusy as Rocky River’s Hop Goblin IPA in nearby Rocky River, Ohio. It lacked everything I love about IPA’s, namely a biting hoppy finish, and that beautiful citrusy, hop flavor throughout. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2004 Tap at Hoptoberfest ’04. Golden amber color. Nice white head. Good lacing. Huge citrus aroma coming off. Malt and hops are both noticable in taste, but the hops just seem to take over. Really well done for a person who likes lots ’o hops. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2004 On tap at the brewery. Murky orange with very few bubbles. Huge fresh hop nose. Great hop flavors of orange and so much pine its almost a forest. The beer needs a stronger malt presence to balance all the hops, and a little more body too. Very much a hop beer. Strong, pleasant fresh floral, fruity aroma. Very crisp palate, refreshing, but not thin in flavor. Bitter, but also astringent, with a mild to moderate maltiness. A really great IPA. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Draft at brewery: Golden color, pure white, frothy head. Aroma is total hops assault, citrusy as well. Flavor is extremely hopy and very bitter throughout. A nice IPA, very distinctive and representative of this style of hops, though it's a bit too much for me. Could use a bit more balance. Still a great brew and worth trying.
