From a 22oz bottle. Pours mper with a slight white head that fades to light lacing. Citrusy hops aroma that’s not overpowering. A little bit of sugary sweetness comes through on the nose. Taste is bubblegum and oranges, a really interesting mix that work. Very dry mouthfeel that leaves me feeling like I’ve been drinking a light champagne.

From notes. First reviewed 7/30/2010. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Hippie IPA pours a hazy deep amber color with a copper tint. A bubbly off-white head keeps nicely and some spidery sticky lace clings to the glass.
A semi-strong alcohol aroma permeates the smell, which is mostly composed of citrus and earthy hops, softly sweet caramel malt.
The flavor starts off a bit dry with a caramel sweetness. Some rye seems to contribute to the graininess. Some generally spicy notes, earthy notes, and some citrus rind.
The mouthfeel is a bit rough and grainy feel. Medium carbonation and a thicker than average body. Gritty.
This is an interesting IPA, but a bit rough around the edges for my taste.
