Deep brown color with hints of amber/red. Very little head which settles to some lacing on top. Aroma is estery with some spice to it. Mouth feel is very nice, crisp and rich. Flavor is sweet, fruity, and malty. Hints of spice are there too, although it does not seem all that complex.

The beer pours a disappointing oily looking, clear, light brown. There is hardly even a whiff of a head.
The aroma is very light with a little malt on the front and alcohol at the end. The malts come across as biscuit, yeast, and a little toffee.
The taste is very light, mostly alcohol with a little yeast and bad aftertaste.
The feel is total water and very limited in drinkability.
Overall, a very disappointing beer and a bad first impression for me of Buckeye Brewing.

Bought at Buckeye more than a year ago. A tasty little treat. Somewhat malty and bannana and fruity. Sweetish and very drinkable. Creamy yeasty mouthfeel. Malty aroma. Big yeasty head.

22 oz. bottle from Dilly Deli. Nice looking pour, a red-brown color with a thick tan head. Aroma of dark and dried fruits (cherry, raisin, plum, fig), nuts, chocolate, caramel, candy sugar, and a hint of Belgian yeast but it’s almost undetectable on the nose. Flavor of dark and dried fruits again (raisins and cherries mostly), caramel malts, nuts, wood, and once again so little yeast. Seems like kind of a stretch for a dubbel. Medium-bodied, with a fairly thin texture for a dubbel and mild carbonation. Abrupt finish. Not bad.

Pours red with a small tan head. Taste is sweet, syrupy and watery. Drinkable but uninspired.

Bomber courtesy of Santa. Pours a clear red with a thin, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing. Little carbonation. Aroma is Belgian waffles with butter and strawberries. Yum. Taste is Vermont maple syrup. Flat, watery on the palate. Sort of uninteresting but easy to drink. Unoffensive. Misses the big candi sugar and yeast notes in Abbey Dubbels. Lacks a creamy body. Would like to try this unfiltered.

Bottle. Pours clear copper, with an off white head. Aroma is malt, brown sugar, and fruit. Flavor is brown sugar, fruit, malt, and spice. Body seems a little for the style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
dark brown with quickly vanishing head, strong nose of sweet malt, not your typical dubbel nose. low carbonation for the style. flavor with no bitterness, mild belgian esters are overwhelmed by an amazing amount of malt sweetness for a dubbel, maybe some spices are intermixed, but they dont come through well, a ton of residual sweetness. the beer tastes a whole lot more like a doppelbock than a belgian dubbel, totally out of style and not enjoyable regardless

bottle thanks to muckjoe! Pours a murky redish brown with a medium tan head. Brown sugar and maple syrup nose with some chocolate malt seeping through. Sweet and mildly tart with sour cherry and a sweet carmel malt ends bittersweet with more brown sugar. Nice brew, thanks again Joe!
