10/28/2014: The Pale Ale and IPA share the same golden copper color and frothy off whitte crown. Aroma is citrus with some pine. Flavor has some toasted malt, but is mostly citrusy hops that reminds me of orange along with some pithe and resin. Quite dry; very sessionable. I like the cask like body. Solid Pale Ale. Draught at the Buckeye Lake Brewery.

Draft pour at the brewhouse. Pours a semihazy copper with a white head of foam. Aroma is pine and citrus zest. Taste is just a mild bitterness over top of a doughy malt backbone.

Cask at beverage source, pours dark orange with no real head. Aroma us lots of fresh citrus hops and is definitely strong with the orange zest and small pine notes. Taste is good and hoppy with smooth citrus, mostly orange and some grapefruit and a bit of pine, some caramel, hoppy without being crazy bitter. Mouthfeel is where it falls short, its a little flat, could use some more carbonation, could just be from being cask.

On tap at the brewpub. Golden color with an off white head. Sharp, bright citrus hop nose. This is a hop forward beer with strong tangerine, orange peel and red grapefruit juice. This beer is a little thin with water being a flavor. Nice compliment to the pannis that they serve at the bar.

Sample at the brewery. Clear gold pour with a thin off-white head. Malty and dank nose with earthy hop notes. Malty flavor up front, but then the earthy and somewhat spicy hops come in and last through to the bitter finish.

Draft. Poured a clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hop and malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

Half pint draft at the brewery tasting room in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. The pour is a light haze golden copper with a small off white head. The aroma is toasted malt, along with a light resin bitterness. The taste is chewy toast malt, light bitterness, and a touch of mineral in the finish. The palate is medium to light bodied, with a lower carbonation level, and a lasting bitter finish. I also got a strange coffee roast in the finish of this as well. Unique beer, not a typical pale ale.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear pale orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and sweet malt. Light-bodied with a moderately bitter hops character that has some citrus and spice notes. Touches of sweet malt in the background. The finish is short and hoppy. Decent all around.

This is a really nice beer. Very hop forward. Firm bitterness with citrus aroma and taste up front, with notes of pine. Very nice copper color, white head, that fades quickly most likely from the hops. Fruity notes also present from the yeast.
