At first, the taste was a little too much with all of the spices. After a few sips, the flavor mellowed out. The cinnamon, pumpkin and nutmeg were apparent. Nice cinnamon aroma. It was a medium amber in color. This beer would be good with Thanksgiving dinner.

Poured into a pint glass. I had never heard of this beer or even this brewery until I saw this bottle at a local place a few days ago. The best part about being new in town is discovering all this new stuff. 3.0 A: Clear light orange color. One finger of frothy off-white head that doesn’t retain that well and leaves no lacing. 3.5 S: The first whiff was full of spice, but after that it seemed to lose most of its steam. Still, all the requisite players are there: cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and clove. Maybe even a touch of stringy, fleshy pumpkin. There may also be some light caramel beneath the spices. 3.5 T: The malt is a bit weaker than I’d prefer, but overall it isn’t bad. The spiciness in the taste is a lot less potent than in the nose. Light caramel maltiness. This comes off as a very lightly spiced pale ale. Like I said, it’s not bad. 3.5 M: Light body. Good moderate carbonation. Super smooth. Not bad here, but I would like a thicker body and more creaminess. 3.0 D: Average, easy drinking pale ale with pumpkin and spice aspects. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-11-2011 04:44:25

Nice amber pour. The head was small and white. The aroma mild malt and pumpkin. The flavor is very mild pumpkin. Not much spice. Decent beer over all. I nice seasonal.

22 oz. bottle from Root Cellar. Pours a clear, bright orange-amber with a small eggshell white ring for a head. Aroma of nutmeg, vegetal pumpkin, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, and sugar. Flavor of caramel malts, medicinal notes, big spice, and soap. Light-bodied with a little sharpness and a medicinal mouthfeel. Disappointing.

The color is remarkably clear. The aroma is full of pumpkin pie spice along with something unexpected, butterscotch. Warm spices at first back off to a nice blend of pumpkin and pie crust. That butterscotch is still in there, too. A hint of hops make their presence felt at the back end. A great beer here. Big flavors, fantastic balance, excellent mouthfeel. I already want more!

Tap sample. Poured clear orange copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid doughy pumpkin, ginger and small sweet spice aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced pumpkin sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine. Clear copper pour with a thin beige head. Cinnamon nose with lots of ginger, some malt and clove. Flavor starts out with ginger and cinnamon, then turns to a malty crisp finish.

orange with barely a head present. sweet nose. low bitterness before some cinnamon and ginger flavor with some low crystal that is overwhelming and leaving a cloying and unpleasant flavor. low position on the style chart

Definitely something you have to be in the mood for. I got mine on draft at the Beer Engine without the brown sugar rim. Good thing too as it was incredibly sweet. I liked everything but the taste, which kinda put a damper on my experience. The pumpkin taste is overwhelming and I didn’t finish it, good thing someone else bought it.
