Bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy golden colour, with a white retained head of one-quarter inch. Mild malty and faint hoppy aroma. Above average mouthfeel, understated hoppiness and a balance that was good wth a meal. Very good drinkability. Very pleasant for the style.

Bottle. Poured clear dark amber hue with a large frothy off-white head that Mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium aroma of hops, malt. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced flavor of malt, hops with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good brew with a steak from the grill.

July 17-19, 2008: Buckeye Yuppie ESB has lots of fresh citrusy and slightly minty hops in the aroma. The flavor is soft ans has a slightly buttery flavor. This beer has a hazy, bright copper color, light beige-colored foamy head, and a smooth, mellow medium body. Overall it is a good ESB with more hops than expected.

Draught sample (45 IBU, 5.5% ABV)at Skipper’s Bar & Grille in Athens, Ohio during Ohio Brew Week 2008. Rating #17 for this beer.

Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 26, 2009
Sample at Neil’s HSC initation. The beer pours a hazy bright orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel and earthy malt. Medium, clean body with flavors of caramel malt, light hops and a bit of bread. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering caramel aftertaste. Overall an average ESB that skews too far on the sweet side.

This poured a caramel color with a small off white head. Aroma was sweet malts, but not really roasted with nice hints of bittering hops in their too. Flavor was the perfect balance of malt and hops for this type of style. An ok beer overall, but an excellent bitter.
