COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Panther is copper to deep copper in color with a citrus, caramel aroma that resembles tangerines. Panther pale ale has moderate to high hop bitterness that resembles citrus with caramel notes and subtle hints of toast.

This is probably closer to a british bitter or pale ale than the American variety. The same bronze color and faint head. Wondeful, flowery aroma and aggresive hops. A macho version of their Red Hills Amber. Great for lovers of assertive ales.

Poured a clear ruby color (I wish my homebrew barley wines were this red) with a thin off white head. Big citrus and floral hoppy aroma with sweet caramel underneath. Sweet flavor of caramel mixed with a light hop flavor and finishing with a big hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied.

This made up for the weak Pioneer Pilsener. Ruby brown body topped with a whiff of a head, but that’s not a big deal. The aroma is sappy hops and caramel malt. The flavor has a nice grapefruit rind bitterness supported by a sweet caramel malt that makes this a pleasure to drink. A very tasty APA.

This was a really solid example of this style. Lots of cascade and centennial hops come through in the flavor and aroma. Nicely hoppy, with a sloid malt backbone, to keep it all balanced. Lots of zesty fruity flavors as well. Very good.

A very hoppy APA. Copper color with a decent head. Orange and grapefruit citrus flavor. A bitter and refreshing aftertaste. A west coast style hopfest and an excellent beer all around.

Overall a decent offering by Buckhead. No real discernible difference between this and their IPAs - therein lies the rub. A little too hoppy for the style in my humble opinion. Not a bad beer - they are just starting to all taste the same. Nice copper color and hoppy flavor stays strong throughout.

This was decent beer, but it is distinctly Buckhead and not much more. All of the ambers at Buckhead are just chock-a-block loaded with Centennial or Cascades hops which overpowers anything else that the beer has going for it. I have a hard time telling them apart from batch to batch. This looked nice in a shaft of winter afternoon sunlight that was shooting between two fermenters. I was grateful that on the 15th of January that it was 65º down here in N. Florida. Accordingly, I give this beer the Aurelius' Standard 7-3-7-3-13 Brewpub rating for being better than a macrobrew, but somewhat less than some quality, newfound English bitter. All joking aside, it's solid beer.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2004 Another great beer from Wayne and the guys at Buckhead Brewery in Alpharetta, GA. Has a very refreshing, smooth, clean hoppiness with a citrusy undertone.
