3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 aracauna (2691) - Georgia, USA - FEB 19, 2005
Excellent porter from the Alpharetta location. Very dark body is almost black, but with reddish brown light around the edges. The chocolate-milk foam head is soupy and leaves behind a nice lacing. The aroma is chocolately, with a burst of grassy hops. This perhaps could use a little age to get rid of the grassiness, but it’s not objectionable. The flavor is very low in bitterness, with a full, but not quite rich chocolate malt taste. Very drinkable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - NOV 2, 2003
This stuff was great and definitely something I could drink over and over again. Not very consistent from glass to glass though. The first glass was just chock full of chocolately goodness while the later glasses were like drinking a cup of coffee. Very roasted and nutty, incredibly creamy and rich, full of flavor.

Maybe I got the bottom of the barrel - but this did not do a lot for me. Almost skunky in aroma and flavor - will try again on another visit - hardly rates as a porter except for the dark color.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Admiral (524) - Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 23, 2002
Very nice. Rich, coffeeish, but stopping just shy of being a stout. Excellent with the restaurant’s venison.

My favorite of the Buckhead beers I have tried. Deep brown color with a rich, malty flavor. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Good coffee and vanilla aroma. Deep rootbeer brown, with short head and good carbonation. Very smooth frontend with char flavoring on the backend. Medium body.
