American IPA

Loads of Crystal and Sterling hops lead the way in producing huge citrus and pine aromatics. Hoppiness is supported with a clean, slightly biscuity malt backbone.

Pour on tap, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big grapefruit, orange, some pineapple, funky citrus notes into a bit of biscuit, bread, some caramel, nice and fruity. Taste is a mix of caramel, biscuit, nice orange, pine, funky grapefruit and mango notes into some slight spice, finishing fairly bitter. Nice.

Kind of a funk citrus smell. Pours clear with white head and sticky lace. Citrus taste up front and pine finish. At Irish Times in Brookfield, IL.

Orange and cloudy pour from draft at beermiscuous. White head that sticks and coats the glass all the way down. Crazy fruity/grapefruit aroma. The hops are amazing in this beer. Taste is a tropical fruit bomb of happiness. Love it

Tap at Kasey’s Tavern in the South Loop of Chicago. Hazy orange color surprising from an IPA. Lacing us there and head definitely tries hard. Aroma is a citrus and tropical note cacophony. Taste really follows suit too. Lots of hoppy, citrus flavors and the resin like aftertaste of an IPA. I would recommend buckling down and ordering this when in Chicago.

Draft at Standard Market, June. Cloudy amber color, a spongy head just a pinky finger wide. The PNW hops can be easily detected while the glass is still on the counter, growing in orange citrus character. Nose has more fresh hops up close. Taste is an upfront punch of orange juice and pine needles, and heavily bitter. More prickly carbonation. The strong hop palate remains as an afterburn.

[Tap] Golden in color with a small amount of head to it. Moderately bitter aroma is highlighted by grapefruit and citrus rinds. Taste is dry and bitter. Notes of pine, citrus and grass mix well with an underlying cracker and bready maltiness. Lively carbonation. Clean and pretty tasty.

Sampler pour on tap at the brewery (Lyons, IL). Pours a well hazed amber orange hue, decent haziness in the body with some decent glow. Soapy frothy offwhite head atop stays as a firm layer, sticks around as a firmer film, laces well. Aromas are dry and bitter, a touch earthy with florals, a touch of citrus juice, grapefruit, lemon and rind, earth and gentle bready malt. Fresh, fairly hoppy but I wouldn’t say it’s the trendiest profile. Still, solid and fresh. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied showing some gentle guava, grapefruit and bitter citrus. Touches of rind, florals and gentle earth. Mellow bread, some touches of earth, dry earthy hop bitterness. Middle is a touch bready, the body never interferes or asserts much sweetness. Fuzzy and bitter hops are a bit citrusy, some florals, dankness, and touches of more guava elements. Backend is a bit more dry, floral, some cereal and bready elements. Pretty solid stuff. Never too overwhelming, goes down easy. A touch of biscuit, the firmer hop character is fuzzy, bitter, fairly fruity without using some glory hop. Firm bitterness, a touch cereal with florals, guava and citrus, gentle coolness. Really nice stuff. Easy going, firm assertive hop character with some nice flavors. Well done. While the stout got a more generous score, this is probably their best beer.. And a flagship to boot.
