2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bluevegie (2926) - Perth, - SEP 5, 2005
Medium amber body with a slight off-white head, hardly lasting. Caramel aroma along with hops, fuggles & tettnanger show up in the taste, resin, like it better than the bells hotel bitter but it is still one-dimensional, almost like an IPA.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 mkel07 (1808) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2010
330ml bottle. Deep fluffy dirty white head that rises like bread in an oven. Ruby copper flecked cloudy beer that looks good. Biscuity caramel aroma that gets your attention. Full of flavour and fills the mouth and then leaves a lingering warmth on the palate. Yet another good effort from the boys at Yarra Flats.
1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 strings (377) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 21, 2007
Like the worst kind of home brew. Rancid in such a familiarly unsettling and seemingly unsterile way that as you grimace with displeasure, it makes you think "oh well, at least it’s free", and then you remember that amazingly it so isn’t.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Gouldz01 (9) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 4, 2006 does not count
Bottled, Amber colouring throughout the body, fizzy light head. Bitterness strongly felt through the palate along with a slight nutty flavour reminiscent of a heavier beer variety (ie. Amber Ale). Decent locally grown beer, still slightly rough though.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 voota (765) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 29, 2005
Pours a deep cloudy copper, with a large fluffy off white head. Poor lacing. Pretty typical aroma, but a bit yeasty. Fuggles are evident in the palate, plenty of earthy flavours and a hint of friutiness. Also some nice (slightly sweet) maltiness. Not too bad really
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Stew41 (1457) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - DEC 5, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2009 Pours a pretty good foam head with good form and decent lacing. Dark orange, almost light brown in colour. Good aroma lift but a fraction too citric and metallic for my liking. A little sweet citrus in the palate and does firm up at the back with some bitterness, but that citrus does thins out the flavour out somewhat.. Better than previous bottles ƒ.3).
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Choos (507) - Taylors Hill, AUSTRALIA - OCT 3, 2004
Aroma: hoppy, some sweetness and a bit lagery. Appearance: cloudy brown with a hint of orange. Small bubbly head. Flavour: some sweet malt with strong hop bitterness. A touch of grapefruit also noticeable.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 vanvenlo (852) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 24, 2004
25 Sep 04 - Slight fruity hop aroma. Fizzy when pouring, light hazy brown orange colour. Reasonable head retention with a soap suds lacing. Low fruit, simplistic hoppy bitterness. A bit thin on the finish.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lunkie (1129) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 24, 2004
Murkey golden colour with reasonable head. Hoppy spicy aroma. Sharp bitter flavour with fizzy palate.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 kook (2033) - Perth, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA - OCT 20, 2003
Pours golden-amber hazy. Off white bubbly head. Good lacing. Green apples and stale hop aroma. Very "interesting" taste. Medium mouthfeel, not all that smooth though. Sweet fruity initial taste, with a bitter tingly finish. Aftertaste very astringent and almost cider-like. Bit of smokiness present too? Reminded me of my early homebrews, which isnt a terribly good memory.
