Draft at Green Dragon. Murky brown color, small tan edge head. Aroma of milk chocolate. Taste is milk chocolate and Starbucks. Undercarbonated, as if the fermentation didn’t really kick in. The concept works for IPAs, I’m not so sure it works for saisons.

Druaght from Rogee- North Beach. Poured flat and dark with mild head. Very peppery taste. Very flat/no carb which detracted from it.

Dark, almost opaque color, small off-white head. Herbal, slightly coffeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Herbs - lavendel, cinnamon ... and coffee and ash in flavor. More interesting than really good.

I really don’t know how to do this as I have never heard of a black saison. This was a black beer, with a thin white head. Yeasty aroma like a saison. Light body, pleasing with a bit of currant and roasty notes not found in a usual saison. I hope they do this again.
