AB is really penetrating the microbrew and import market and doing a decent job. Some of the Mich beers aren’t too bad. This is a 12 oz twist off. Ok, some sediment on the bottom. Not sure if its yeast er not. Some swirl from the gunk in an otherwise pale lager appearance. Nice thin creamy head. First taste takes a while for a little tartness to set in. The nose is micro-brewish. Yes that tartness is almost impressive, yet mild and behaved. Cost is less than $1!. Typical wheat beer, almost wit bier, taste alrighty. Without any ale negative attributes. Good unnasty beer session. A very refined wheat beer experience, perhaps better than the mich bavarian wheat. On line with better blue moon products. Perhaps a little processed, but just barely. Dude, almost makes me forget about the wit beer belgium brews for twice or three times the price. Approved, but I’m a lager lover.

Bottle. Hazy orange color, nicer foam then expected... thought it looked better then it tasted. Skunky and watery with some citrus that went bad. The lime one is better

12 ounce bottle, aromas of wheat and oranges. Flavor is weak wheat and oranges, nothing too special to note, still better than regular Bud Light.

Original review: 12/8/09. Was watching the Packer game last night at a local pub, after consuming some of the good craft offerings, decided to give this one a shot. Came out a very murky dark gold with a thin eggshell-white head on top. Little retention, and even less sticky lace. Scents of orange zest, honey, and biscuits. The mouth was crisp and bubbly, but still held a slight pleasant creamy feel. Flavors of light citrus, honey-kissed breads, and sweet wheat. This was very sweet in fact. Could stand a bit more of a balancing bitterness, but what did I really expect from AB? Refreshing beer. All in all, this was a pleasant surprise. Nothing I would go out to get as there are obvious better craft wheats out there, but not bad.

Pours hazy golden with a thin head. Aromas of orange and wheat. Easy to drink though not very flavorful. Not so bad for AB

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with thin white head. Faint aroma of orange. Not much taste. Didn’t get much wheat. Bud Light with additives.

From notes. First reviewed 5/2/2010. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Golden Wheat pours an opaque golden orange color. A medium sized rocky white head forms upon pouring, quickly fading to a thin ring. Plenty of carbonation rising up from the bottom. Very piecemeal aroma, like I can feel the construction. Light, with pieces of orange and coriander. Barely any wheat. The ’light’ part is painfully obvious in the taste. Light citrus notes and coriander flavors are present, with a little rough grain. Slightly creamy at the start, but overall it is thin and watery. Leaves an industrial aftertaste. It is more pleasant than Bud Light, but it drinks the same.

BOTTLE. Hazy orange pour. Sweet wheat flavor with a hint of orange zest and bit of spices. Not bad for a macro.

Well, it’s better than regular BL but I can’t imagine the situation where I would drink this again.

Surprisingly or maybe not (since having it once was enough) have forgot to rate this one. I had high hopes this would be decent as I do enjoy wheat beers, but in the end it really is just Bud Light with a little citrus.

Bud Light Golden Wheat has a very, thick, pillowy cream-colored head and a cloudy, golden appearance with brown yeast chunks floating about. Little lacing is left on the glass. The aroma is of a slight banana whiff and water. Taste is of white wheat bread, a touch of citrus, and a tad of hop bitterness, with a whole lot of water. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Bud Light Golden Wheat finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, easy-drinking, and, unfortunately, a bit dull. Overall, this is a high-average beer. RJT
