The beer based margarita is now introduced with strawberry flavoring. This is our take on the traditional margarita. Beer drinkers were already mixing Bud Light Lime into margaritas to create ‘beer ritas’; Lime-a-Rita just adds a new level of convenience by providing a beverage with the perfect balance of flavors.

8 oz can. Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita pours a pinkish red, with fizzy white bubbles. Nose is strawberry frozen margarita. Taste is similar. think about the quality of margarita you get out of those slushy machines but in a wine cooler form, in a can. You’re about there. Have no illusions of this being great. It’s a stand in for a mixed drink, that is ten times easier to serve and drink. As long as your expectations are low, it’s passable.

24oz can poured into a Flute at 40°. Color deep pink with good carbonation but no head. It fizzes up and falls like a soda. Aroma of strawberry Kool-Aid, lime and salt. It has a lighter body with a sweet and tangy mouth feel. Flavor is sweet with a mix of lime and fake strawberry. In the after taste a bit of salt show with just a hint of alcohol. Overall I think it came out just the way they wanted it and if this is the kind of thing you’re looking for its good (my wife loves this stuff). Keep in mind this is not a beer, they call it a Bud Light, but its just like any malt based wine cooler, only this one is dressed up to taste a bit like a strawberry margarita.

On tap at Grant’s Farm. This is a tough one to rate....especially the appearance. Aroma of sweet fruit and strawberry. Lime not perceptible. Pours a mostly clear fuchsia with no head. Taste is sugary sweet, puckeringly so. Like a fruit punch, the strawberry seems to overwhelm the "rita" aspects of the beer. Malt barely present. Could not drink it and it was a freebie. Just cloyingly sweet and nothing enjoyable, but it was not contaminated.

Pours a bright pink color without any head. Strawberry syrup flavor. Sugary sweetness lingers.

Can. A- Strawberries, alcohol. A- Red color, clear liquid, pink head. T- Strawberries, alcohol. P- Light body, average texture, high carbonation, tart finish. O- I can’t even compare this to bad beers because that would be offensive to bad beers. This is awful. Strawberry taste is fake, medicine taste, and horrible aftertaste. I feel the need to apologize to my taste buds and man hood for even tasting this. I couldn’t even finish the 8 oz can. Down the drain it went. This is the first beer or any liquid I have ever ingested that actually made me vomit.

From the depths of the box from Art comes this critter. Watermelon pink with a cherry charms lollipop nose this is sure to displeasure any beer geek....certainly Sloth. I feel like a Euro-trash popped collar cretin pouring this over ice. A splash of strawberry and sour patch kid gummy worm up front. In short, blended kids candy with alcohol. I bet this gets guys laid in college.

I want to rate this lower because of how ridiculous this "beer" is, but truth is it tastes alright. Tingling carbonation with huge strawberry flavor.

Can from a grocery store. Pours a Kool Aid red. Aroma of watered down strawberries. Taste of overly sweet strawberries.

Pink with virtually no head. It smells and tastes like strawberries with some booze in the finish. Doesn’t taste bad but I wouldn’t call it beer.

237ml (8oz) can bought at The Q-Club in SoHo, Central.

Translucent water melon juice colour; Virtually no head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; No lacing with notable slight carbonation; Very sweet aroma of strawberry concentrate, lime juice, water melon, grape juice, cocktail booze, lemonade and sugar; Very strong sweet taste of tequila-like alcohol, with loads of sugar, liquorices, strawberry concentrate, water melon juice, lemonade and lime juice; Medium body, Thick and boozy palate; Mouth feel is sluggish, sugar-loaded margarita / cocktail booze mixed with sweet strawberry concentrate all the way. It’s not really strawberry syrup as it’s more juice than sugar, but bad anyway. Also there are lingering water melon juice and lemonade, both were sugar-contaminated. No malt or hops whatsoever. Really bad… Bitterness is mostly from the cocktail liquorices, quite notable but not enough to counter the sugar for an overtly sweet-cocktail bitter finish; Wet after taste. Very easy and extremely sweet to mouth.

Comments: If you think the original Lime-A-Rita is bad enough, this strawberry-infused “Rita” is much worse - sick, almost medicial sweet strawberry overwhelms what’s left of lime and lemonade. The presence of water melon taste is not welcoming. The whole thing is sickly sweet and as artificial as ever. Terrible!
