I had this as a tester in my store and found that is was actually an improvement over the regular Bud Light. Obviously, AB is pushing for the cheap back door into a Corona crowd with this product, but its mild taste with the snap of lime will probably fail in that venture. I would forget about talking about hops or complex aromas because they do not exist here. It’s worth tasting as a marketing quirk and then dumping.

has the mexican/miller clear bottle, a twang to the lime taste, which isn’t bad at all, but artificial, but what did you expect, surprised that the abvc is listed on the bottler

PorterPounder (6046) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 1, 2008
Tallahassee, Fl. - Publix Supermarkets - 12 oz bottle. Very pale golden pour with a quickly fading white spritzy head. Brief aroma of limeade and lime flavored kool-ade - very artificial. Flavor is sweet and refreshing, but not very beer like. Lime flavor is somewhat natural tasting and not unappealing. Would be a good companion on the beach when you just want to drink and are not worried about a lot of of flavor to weight you down - just want to quench your thirst - don’t expect more than that. Mouthfeel is a tad harsh - leaves you a bit breathless, similar to low carb offerings.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2008 Pours like ginger ale... with a strong lime aroma. Well they have successfully copied Miller Chill... which really sucks, I was hoping this would be different. The lime is just ridiculously strong... tastes like unchilled lime JELLO. At-least the lime tastes a little bit more natural than Chill. O brother...

just got this gem in at johns. Yes!! Eatery gold pour with a nice sized white head. Syrupy lime aroma. Flavor is up front lime with a huge grain finish. I pick up some seltzer water as well. Pretty bad but I can see this appealing to a lot of people over the summer months.

Bottle and served in pint glass: Straw hued with a fizzy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of lime soda, DMS, cereal, and some mineral water. The taste is basically lime juice and light grains with a short veggie aftertaste. Well it is thin and lively, I guess it would be as refreshing as normal BL. Unlike the Blue Moon Spring Ale which had some taste this is pretty much no different than drinking a bad lime soda. Makes Miller Chill look world class. (I like lime and hated this, that should tell you something)

Light gold body with a bright white head. The aroma is like Sprite with a lime wedge added. There is also some Rice Crispies cereal. The taste is watered down sprite with some old cheap cereal. Wow, this is pretty bad and inferior to Miller Chill. Especially as the lime is not just a hint, but the dominant character and it’s done in a cheap, fake way.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a massive white head that fades away. Has a pretty nice lime aroma and taste to it. The lime mixes well with the Bud Light. Pretty easy to drink and is refreshing. Is still good after it warms up a bit. Reminds me of Tequiza and Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus, but better. Would be nice to have on a hot day. I wouldn’t mind buying this again.

bottled, not poured into a glass (why pretend?) straw color, clear bottle, and little to make it look any better than it probably is. bud light aroma (rice, hints of malt, imperceptible hops) and sweet lime. "natural lime flavor" clearly does not mean actual lime, because the lime flavor is syrupy and not citrusy or tart. drinkable, not really bad in any way, just not good. i suppose it’s better than corona with a lime - but that’s kind of a forced compliment. could’ve been a lot worse, frankly. i would drink it again if it were less than $1 a bottle.
