Bud Light Platinum has reinvented the category of light beer. Within each cobalt blue bottle lies a bold formula that’s triple filtered with a smooth finish to create its stop shelf taste. Its the first of its kind, and the only beer worthy of the name Bud Light Platinum.

This beer is great out of a bottle, but terrible from a can. I was surprised by the difference in taste.

The blue glass 12oz twist off cap bottle pours with a watery clear body that has a yellow hue and supports a weak white head. The aroma offers up sugary sweetness, pears, corn and apple juice. The taste has a fairly smooth body that tries to be too sweet and later succeeds at it with sugary malts, pears and sweet apple fruity esters and then even more sweetness to midway. This doesn’t have much in the way of the steam roller of sweetness. Hops? Not sure. Too sweet overall but not to the point of being offensive just plenty of sweetness to keep me from trying more of this.

Aroma is sweet malt and a fairly strong presence of adjuncts and medium sulphur. Taste is light bland malts and very basic hop character. Appearance is a clear light gold body with a thin bubbly head that retains poorly.

355ml bottle. Clear straw colour with a thin ring of white foam. Flavors are light cereals, biscuit and vanilla with fruity notes. Light body, lively carbonation, watery texture. Headache material.

12oz can at BBQ. Drank from can, but I would assume the appearance to be piss yellow. Fuzzy carbonation. Aroma of sweet grain and yeast. Taste is sweet apple, grainy, corn, and yeast. Note to self: Start bringing your own beer to BBQ's!

Another Bud product I’ve had more than enough times. Here we go. This was poured at various times into a pint glass and a pilsener glass. There basically isn’t much change in either glass. The appearance was a light golden color with a rapidly dissipating white head. The smell had sweet corn aromas. The taste gives a big hint of sweet corn taste. On the palate, it sat at/about a medium with a decent evel of carbonation. Overall, just an okay beer by AB, as its nothing I would really go out of my way for again.

From BA review on 3-2-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a light golden color with a billowy white head. The head fades fast giving just an ever so light bit of lacing. Smell – Sweet corn aromas are big and bold. The lightest bit of citrus seems to be present as well, but is light in comparison to the sweet corn aroma. Taste – The taste is as the nose suggests. It gives a big hit of sweet corn taste. Just as in the nose, there is the slightest bit of lemon citrus that bitters the flavor ever so slightly toward the end (still quite sweet however) and rounds out the taste. Mouthfeel – Medium bodied with a very appropriate level of carbonation. It is also much less watery then the normal light beer. Overall – This is actually much more flavorful then the average light beer and its mouthfeel blows the normal light beer out of the water. It still is very one dimensional however with its taste consists nearly entirely of corn. Better than the average light beer, that is for sure, but not something to pine for.

The color is a very clear and very light yellow with a medium white head, and the aroma (well, what little aroma is present) blends lager yeast and corn. The taste is a touch of sourness without much else to it, and the palate fuses a light body, thin and slick palate, average carbonation, and a sour finish.

This actually disappointed me in terms of what it was. Just sheer marketing, this was like drinking a lightly wheat flavored water.

Crystal clear pale straw--I swear, I’ve seen darker ciders--under a thin bubbly white head. Cracker and metallic lager nose. Flavor is light and crackery with a weak body and a weak hay malt finish. Has a little boozy ester particularly toward the finish.
