COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bud Light Platinum has reinvented the category of light beer. Within each cobalt blue bottle lies a bold formula that’s triple filtered with a smooth finish to create its stop shelf taste. Its the first of its kind, and the only beer worthy of the name Bud Light Platinum.

I hate light beer, but I need to lower my carb intake. This is (a) a grade above drinkable, (b) low in carbs, and (c) 6% alcohol. I give it an average rating for beers in general (based on less than average taste but better than average alc. content). But it would rate near the top in a light-only comparison. It’s better with food.

12 oz. bottle left in my fridge by a visitor. There’s next to no aroma from this crystal clear very light yellow beer with a thin and quickly dissipating but persistent white head. The same goes for the flavor although there is a decent tasting very light breadiness. There is a light hop taste and bitterness too although it’s kind of muddled. I was surprised that it actually had a bit more body than I thought it would for a light lager. Leaves behind that annoying "Bud" taste that makes me feel like I’m going to wake up with a headache (although it’s not as bad as I remember from other Bud products) . This definitely starts going downhill as soon as it starts warming up in the slightest. Overall, I was surprised that this didn’t suck as much as I thought it would.

Bottle from buddy at work. Medium golden in color. Grainy, fusel malt liquor nose. Somewhat sweet with lots of grains and maybe a corn sort of flavor to it. Like a cheap weak malt liquor.

How can it be Bud LIGHT beer with so much more calories at supposedly 6% ABV? Alcohol makes carbs and carbs are caloric. So LIGHT in taste (what taste? Not much) it certainly is, but in calories, no way! Plain, regular Bud Light stinks anyway. At least it doesn’t taste like wet cardboard. Otherwise, I wish I could rate it lower... And this "platinum" is just more booze and headaches: It’s malt liquor. Admit it. Face it. If I wanted a Budweiser malt liquor then go for King Cobra and enjoy a wicked hangover as well as this skunk sugary, no real malt (and where are the hops?) swill.

Way to sweet. Clear, gold, and pale character - does not have a good balance. Left with a bad taste in the mouth - odd flavoring. Not very sessionable

Hehehe! Une vraie farce cette bière. La seule qualité que j’arrive à lui trouver c’est d’arriver à cacher son 6% ABV d’une manière assez incroyable. C’est tellement aqueux, c’est hallucinant!

Bottle. Pours a pale straw color with a head that fades quickly. Mild Aroma is fruity, malt sweetness and grain. Taste of malt sweetness, fruit and grain. Mild bitterness and a sweet finish that lingers. Light body, smooth with a blah feel. It’s Malt Liquor, need I say more.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2015 Virtually zero aroma. Clear, pale gold, fizzy without any head. Sparkling even. Tastes artificial, not necessarily alcoholic but like a diet soda. Slightly sweet, hint of a bitter aftertaste. Odd brew for a very specific audience.

[6215-20140307] Tin bottle. Light apple straw aroma. Clear, pale yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. More apple and toasted straw in the flavour with a touch of sweet grass. Light body seems very fluffy. Not bad. (4/3/4/2/7) 2.0

So malt liquor was my least rated style and so in my quest for 10 of each I will occasionally mix in these horrible things as opposed to saving to the end. Pours dull pale yellow with white head that fades quickly. Nose is cardboard and grain and off fruit. Tastes of old honey dew, grainy, corn, cardboard. Ugly aftertaste. Bad times
