2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 scooterbub (546) - Lander, USA - FEB 4, 2012
12 ounce blue bottle. Pours a pale golden yellow with a thin, white head that lasts. Taste is of wheat, banana, grass, rice and some citrus. Rather clean aroma, with some citrus and grass notes. The body is soft and light, but not overly watery. Reminds me more of Budweiser than Bud Light, which might be why I like it. Easy to drink and well worth picking up again.

Super clear pale yellow color, super fizzy. Smells like a skunky lager and taste like water with a hint of copper.

Had one of these during the Super Bowl and immediately went back to drinking Budweiser. Better than Bud Light, but not by much!

Really pale, kind of a small well retained head. The aroma is actually more like a Helles than a Pale Lager. Some sweet grainy malt, some honey, but also some malt liquor corny and alcoholic notes too,.
The flavor is pretty much like malt liquor. I’m really surprised, lots of folks I’ve talked to said this had a very neutral flavor and fit the Bud Light name perfectly. It doesn’t at all, the fusel corn, the alcohol, the light cloying sweetness, they’re all there... folks who are paying inflated prices for a sixer of this would do well to go with Olde English 800... this is particularly worse than that beer and the label isn’t nearly as nice looking.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2012 For some strange reason, I’ve been intrigued by this beer. I couldn’t understand why it existed, nor was Bud eager to tell me. It took finding it in a friends fridge to try it. Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve had a Bud Light, but this does seem superior. Slightly richer corn malt flavor with that same watery taste and crisp flavorless finish. The alcohol is well hidden for a macro of this quality. Really not much here, though you could easily do worse in the cheap light macro category.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a clear straw gold color with a half inch white head that fizzled away quickly. There’s a small amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is bready malt/grain, sweet malt and some vegetables/corn/adjuncts. Taste is similar to the aroma, but the vegetable/creamed corn flavor is stronger. Ugh, not good so far. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit slick with low/moderate carbonation. It just seems to get worse the longer I drink it. The only bright sides to this brew is that the mouthfeel isn’t bad, and that the 6% ABV isn’t very noticeable. Bought this as a single at Liquor Barn. I won’t be trying this again anytime soon. Give me a regular Bud Light any day over this, I’m not joking.

Pours a clear watery gold with fizzy white head. Nose and taste is like over carbonated diluted well water. Not worth drinking more suitable for washing your dirty underwater or your family’s pet burro.
