Introduced nationally in 1982, Bud Light is brewed with a malt and hops ratio different from Budweiser for a distinctively crisp taste with fewer calories.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Virtually non-existent. Very thin maybe a hint of corn. Appearance- A translucent yellow with heavy carbonation and almost no head. Taste- Sort of carbonated water with alcohol with a corn flavor. Palate- Light bodied heavily carbonated. Overall- A light beer to swill in quantity. I have done it many times before and I will do it again. Not world class but it does the trick.

When it comes to cheap gameday beer, I tend to lean towards Miller Lite over Bud. Bud Light really just tastes a bit like bad rain water. And not that Miller is anything to write home about. I’d even take a PBR tall boy over Bud any day. Bud is tasteless regardless of bottle or can. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is the most popular light beer in America. But McDonald’s is the most popular restaurant, so it’s not like popularity automatically makes something great, or even good. This is a very flavorless beer, with very little barley/rice/hop flavor. Ice cold, it can be refreshing, but only if you are on a budget and don’t want any sort of complexity or flavor. At least it isn’t as bad as Keystone light or Busch light.

Served via can into a pint glass.

A - Pours pale yellow with a one finger tall white head leaving no lacing down the glass.

S - Smells like flavored water. Little to no hops, malt, barley, ect. to speak of.

T - Very light body. Very similar to the nose with little to no hops or malt at all. The only detectable hops seem to be the faint bitterness that is only noticeable thanks to the prickly carbonation. Finish is really nothing at all. Easily one of the worst beers out there.

M - Light body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Crisp feel with not much of anything lingering in the finish.

D - Sure I could pound a few of these but why would I want to? If I wanted to drink water I would.

(Revised from 2007 rating.) Pours a pale, clear gold with lots of visible carbonation and a white head. Pale malts, grass, some sugary sweetness, maybe a little hay. Not much to it. Straightforward light American lager. Andnot a badly constructed one at that. It isn’t interesting, but it isn’t one of the worst beers around.

Now that Belgian-Brazilian conglomerate InBev bought Anheuser-Busch, it is a violation of the Buy America Act to serve this beer at the White House. Sorry Mr. President.
