Aroma of sweet malts, hay, alcohol. Flavour is nasty malty sweetness with an alcohol punch. Another Imperial Pils failure.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Offers some thickness with a vanilla, malt and alcohol in the aroma. But that alcohol is well balanced so we have got here an easily drinkable beer with a heavy and malty background. A perfecting tasting piwo to knock you out.

Bottle from Tesco in Ryde. Pours out in a deep golden colour with low airy head and medium body. Aroma of mild hops and mild malt. Taste of mild, sweet hops, caramel, leaves, malt, sweet bread and flowers. Alcohol not very well hidden. Drinkable but nothing to really enjoy.

No piwo ladnie wyglada zloto jasno bursztynowe z babelkami i z sniezna i biala piana, niestety niezbyt trwala. Zapach pomaranczy oraz cydru jakby. Nieco brzoskwiniowego musu. W smaku konkretnie slodowe i slodkawe z niewielkim zaznaczeniem chmielu zateckiego w oddali.

0.33L bottle. Clear golden with a minimal white head. Rich aromas. Butterscotch, overripe fruit, alcohol. Fairly decent flavor profile right up front with a mild, sweet, bready malt. This quickly goes to herby hop bitter, and the beer finishes fairly dry with some lingering alcohol . Medium body with an oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Overall, pretty tasty beer. Rich aromas, and a nice balance of malt to hops.

330 ml bottle. A1. BB 10/03/2015. (Spar) Prague, Czech Republic.
Clear deep golden colour with a tiny white head. Sugary sweetness, alcohol and strong malt in the aroma. The flavour is strong malt, mild grassy hops, mild bitterness and sugary sweetness. I really prefer the original Budweiser (Budvar).

Green 0.33 litre bottle, labelled ’Premium Select’ for the UK market: BBD 2 Oct 14, drank at home on 18 Jun 14. Good dark old gold colour with no head at all. Fairly sweet malty nose and taste, with the alcohol in evidence from the first sip. I was thirsty, so enjoyed it, but it is not a great lager, strong or otherwise. Just a bog standard strong lager that cost a lot more than the cheap equally poor options available all over the world.

Keg at Draft House. As ’Bud B-Strong 7.5%’ on the clip and ’Budvar Premium’ on the beer list. Pale yellow, clear, lightly sparkling, big foamy white head, polkadot lacing. Aroma is not appetising - vegetal, socks, and even some vomit. Body is medium to light, slightly foamy, lowish carbonation. Taste - liquorice forward, malty lager, touch of alcohol. Once you become numb to the smell, it starts to grow on you.

Blond with a small head. Sightly-alcoholic and hay aroma. Medium body, high carbonation, slick texture. Sweet and bitter taste. Palate is dominated by hay, metallic hints, bitter herbs. Bitter aftertaste. B@H
